I wouldn't have made a special visit to see this memorial but I respect it in many ways. It had a warm feeling towards it and the people from the past.

This memorial is important to the people of Southampton and to the ancestors of those who sailed on the Mayflower. Originally the Pilgrim Fathers were to sail from the area now known as Mayflower Park, but they had to call in to Plymouth for repairs, supplies and further crew.
It is a lovely area to sit on a nice day and watch all the activities of the Town Quay

Yes, there is a Mayflower Park and across the street, a memorial, but that is kind of pushed to the side and can go unnoticed. Worth a trip. Some nice trees and benches there to take a break in the shade. The park though could have used some cleaning. A small food/refreshment truck is there, but I didn't see any restrooms, so prepare for that. It is within an area that is historically interesting and very nice to walk. Bring your walking shoes.

So, this is the real picture of the Mayflower Memorial. It is located far south in front of the canal, close to the doc and the Mayflower Park.
