We attended a wedding here recently.

As a wedding venue Hyde House is quaint, light and airy with a lovely backdrop of the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds

However, having stayed the night at the hotel we were left feeling a little dissappointed, as we felt that it did not offer good value for money.

On arrival we were left feeling a little confused. We were approached by one member of staff who took our names and then left us to another staff member of staff who handed us our key and a form to sign but then dissappeared, leaving us with no instruction regarding where our room was or where to locate other facilities such as the breakfast room. It seemed the staff were more interested in securing custom from another couple who were considering the venue for their future wedding. Nevertheless, perhaps the hotel would benefit from having a manned reception desk for more efficient, less chaotic customer service.

Though spacious, the room itself was basic, and lacking in finishing touches we would expect for an £140 a night room. There were three of us staying in the family room however, we were only given two mugs, two glasses and two bath towels. There was no soap or soap dispenser by the sink in the bathroom which we found disturbing and one of the windows didn't close at all leaving us concerned about the security of our room. As well as this, the dust ruffle on the double bed was stained, not a major issue of course, but it did not inspire satisfaction concerning the cleanliness of the room

Breakfast was nice. We were welcomed by a lovely attentive waitress and there was plenty of tea and coffee already on the table. You can help yourselves to juices, a selection of cereals, toast and jams and hot food. The sausage and bacon is a particular highlight, and is clearly good quality produce.

Rooms are overpriced for what they are offering. Cold rooms (no heating available), super early and only hour long breakfast buffet with limited choice. No staff at night to help with issues such as being locked out of the front entrance door. Early check out. If they are so limiting - they shouldn't charge as much as they do.

Booked a 2 night stay here for a pre Christmas break.....the rooms to my experience were very expensive.....but though t I'd get to an inn with blazing fires ,great food with an element of comfort!
No lounges or sitting areas bar the bar.....there was a fire but not blazing!
The bedrooms and we paid extra for the 'best' room, were large and spacious.....but very ,very tired. No up to date television....very small and difficult to see f rom the bed.
The food although highly rated was just good pub grub! I expected more. They prided themselves on their pies which were not home made and really very average! However the prawn cocktail was truly magnificent and a meal in itself.....the best ever.
The biggest plus here were the owners and their staff lovely lovely people ...very welcoming and helpful .
The situation is right on the Fosse Way so very noisy if you were in the wrong room !
There are lovely views from the back...so must be lovely in the summer
I wish them good luck on their room improvement ....please make more of the breakfast room.....lovely individually cooked breakfast served in a stark room which could be warmer and well dressed rather than the bog standard tables and chairs!!!
Finding somewhere to be a little comfy snug would be nice....you are charging top whack for rooms, hotel prices without any comforts of a hotel.
Last comment....Imperial leather soap in bathroom!!!!! Please !!!!???

This venue has everything going for it, but and its a big but it is very badly run. The service was poor. It is a wedding venue, you can't get to your room till after the wedding, but you have to be out by 10am, why they can't get room turned around I have no idea. The waiting staff are miserable and not at all customer friendly. The food was average. The wedding planners were not on site the day of the wedding, I think there is a lot of work needed to get the Staff and service up to standard. The venue is fine but no comfortable seating and the chairs they do provide are rickety. Wedding venue, Cotswolds barn sounds good. I don't think so.

Stayed here for a friends wedding, the wedding itself was beautiful and an absolutely amazing day but it's worth noting a couple of things I noticed as a guest. The staff which we encountered as guests checking in to a room, were quite off hand, and often acted like they weren't sure why people were there, which is bit weird considering it's a dedicated venue with accommodation. Check in is too late and too early for the weddings that are held here, we were lucky and our room was ready but other friends had to use our room and some friends weren't greeted with quite a rude response when asking if their luggage could be stored while their room was being prepared. The room we were in was tiny, but we were only in it for a night so not a massive deal. Also for some reason the radiator had been left on which meant the room was boiling hot. Our room was at the front of the main house, and so we could hear a lot of the noise from out front in the morning. The worst thing for us was that when we came to have a shower, there was not enough water pressure for the hot water so it was a drip, meaning we either had a freezing shower or nothing at all. Lastly, at about 11.45 on the wedding day, staff at the barn started packing up the main hall around all of us, including the bride and groom, who were still dancing. Stacking chairs etc. I think this is pretty unacceptable behaviour from a dedicated venue.
