“Great relaxing Apartment”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Spent a weekend at Oak Lodge with close friends, and had a great time. The property is well furnished, with plenty of space with a great view of the Lake outside. Although slightly isolated, you are able to drive to all the Cotswold attractions, and enjoy the surrounding beauty. The facilities, such as gym, pool are all great.

“Lovely location and accommodation”
Reviewed 21 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This was a lovely location and accommodation for what was a significant birthday for the wife. The house is large and easily accommodated our children and their partners. Everyone had their own bathroom which was either on-suite or nearby. The house and furnishings were to a high standard and there were plenty of cooking utensils, pots and pans etc. There was a gas fire in the main room, which proved difficult to light as there were no instructions in the information pack. Likewise, we had paid extra for the hot tub, which on arrival was empty. This was due to the fact that the representative who met us did not have it on his worksheet that we had booked it. Fortunately, I had my paperwork with me and was able to show him the booking details. However, this meant that we could not use the hot tub on the Friday evening as it needed to heat up and it still was not at the right temperature until midday on the Saturday. Also, we had some problems with it, as the control panel instructions on the hot tub were worn away and it stopped working on Saturday evening for whatever reason. Had to call the representative on the Sunday morning as it still was not working and he made advised that he would try and get someone out, but was not sure if that was possible on a Sunday. To cut a long story short, we still used the hot tub as the water was hot, but had no bubbles. I have advised the agents, but no offer of apology or even compensation has been forthcoming. We also had free use of the onsite Spa facilities included with our booking, which were lovely. All in all, this was an expensive treat and would have marked it as a 5, if it had not been for the problems with the hot tub, which I had paid the extra £80 for.

“a fantastic place to stay in, in an idyllic setting”

The property was perfect for our requirements and exceeded our expectations. More than enough room for 7 adults and a baby.
It was spotlessly clean on arrival, well equipped and furnished.
We particularly liked having a barbecue on Christmas Day and the Hot Tub was fun too!
The Lower Mill Estate was a lovely place to stay at. Pleasant to walk around and the gym, swimming pools and sauna were a real bonus.
Although I don't really like to go back to placed where I have stayed I would not hesitate staying there again.

“A few improvements to be made but fantastic overall”
Reviewed 11 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

A group of 9 of us stayed in Oak lodge for a 3 night stay at Lower Mill. We had a fantastic time. The views were spectacular and the surroundings were idyllic. It's a shame there was just a few little things that let it down.

The blind in one the bedrooms was completely broken, which I feel could have been easily sorted before we arrived. Instead it was rolled up and tied together with the cord.

There was a television in the bathroom downstairs which one of the guests would have loved to use, but we later found out that this hadn't been working for 2 - 3 years. I felt it either just needed to be replaced or removed.

3 guests stayed in the double bunk bed room. They said they struggled to get a decent nights sleep as the bed was incredibly creaky and made a huge noise whenever anyone moved in the night.

Finally, we learned when we arrived that there was no wifi in the house (though the house was advertised as having it). It just seemed like this should be a fairly standard addition, especially as it was in such a a remote location so lacked in phone signal.

That being said, overall it was a fantastic weekend away with friends, and this would have been a 5* review if it weren't for the small imperfections. Would definitely return!
