Stylish, beautiful hotel. Lovely bar, but didn't have time to use it. Check in was smooth and all staff were good, though service of breakfast and dinner was slow. Food was good, but dinner was quite average for the price. London prices, but that's Brighton.

Seaview rooms very spacious, clean, bright and airy. A well designed hanging rail instead of wardrobe. Bedside tables too small, but that's minor. Our 3 children (18, 15 and 12) shared a room with a king bed and a small rollaway. All beds very comfortable. The curtains didn't completely stop the light from coming through early morning.

The location is around 2 miles outside of Brighton and we had a hire car, so no problem. There's an historic train running from nearby into Brighton which is a nice trip. Plenty of dining options at the Marina, along with ten pin bowling and a cinema. Also a large 24 hr Asda.

This was by far the nicest of 3 hotels we've stayed at in Brighton, and we'll be back!

Room tip: Didn't see other rooms, but Sea View was worth the cost

OK but expensive for what you get.Stuffy room with no aircon and small bathroom with poor layout and no handrail for shower. Prices up since Seattle days.£20 for house wine!
Skip breakfast-Wetherspoons 2 mins away with eggs Benedict and limitless coffee for just over £4.Hotel needs to up its game

Stayed there 2 nights for a conference.
Hotel was bright and clean. Room was small but with a decent aspect overlooking the Marina (and a nice area to walk out from the outer door).
However, there are no wardrobs - just a few pegs on which to hang your trousers, jacket, etc.
They had small bottles of water in the room for £2 each which is taking the mickey, I felt!

Local parking is free at the nearby multistorey, which is an advantage. However, on average a taxi is around £10 to the centre of Brighton so swings-roundabouts.
Breakfast was a disaster, having waited 15 minutes for a cup of coffee and I gave up waiting for my cooked breakfast after 30 minutes! The chap at Reception was apologetic and offered to bring the plate to my room afterwards but I was about to leave for my meetings.

Finally, when I checked out their printer wasn't working and so they asked if it was ok to email the receipt. I'm still waiting for it a day later...

All-in-all, and average stay but at the prices they charge I would have expected something a lot better all round.

Malmaison have recently taken over this Seattle hotel.
Location .... out on a limb, in a ragbag of marina, supermarket and cheap chain restaurants. If you dont have a car it is no good at all
Hotel... shabby, dirty carpets, trays left outside rooms
Service, breakfast fine.... rest of the place very poor. Staff unsure, no one gave me wifi etc etc
Food: Breakfast excellent.

I go to Brighton a lot on business

Overall not worth it sadly....

This place used to be called the Seattle and changed hands two months or so ago.

Boutique hotel, that we are told is undergoing a faclift. It looked exactly the same as when we have visited it twice before.

The chaps on reception are very welcoming. We booked two rooms and both were upgraded one to a sea view. We let the kids have that one. I say kids they are both 30ish.

The rooms were clean if not a little tired, which is probably why they are being facelifted and refreshed. We were told they will be better equipped and less money.

Loads of space as the rooms are large. Not all rooms have AC but will have as part of the refresh. Our room had two fans as we didn't have AC, but the kids did have and their room was much cooler.

The bar area is comfortable and the ambience and jazz music a fabulous difference. We had cocktails and these were served by the barman who was extremely friendly and man very nice cocktails. From Armenia I think he said.

Breakfast was good, I was a little puzzled why they didn't offer a cooked full English as part of the package we paid for, we had to pay a supplement of £2 per person. I would suggest add this into the cost of the room, this is a pointless surcharge that frankly leaves me writing about it. Included in the room cost I frankly would not have questioned nor noticed it.

Still. I recommend staying here, it's really nice, and the staff friendly and welcoming.

Well done Malmaison, we will no doubt see you agin soon.

Room tip: Ask for a room that has AC as rooms do get hot.
