Just back from a 2 night stay at this hotel. The first room we checked into was absolutely awful. Stains on carpet, wall paper torn and the bathroom looked liked it hadn’t been touched since the ‘70’s! After complaining was moved to another room which was better. The whole place looks really tired and dated. For the money they are charging it simply isn’t good value. Also note if you book via Bookings.com you will be given a room with scaffolding and workmen outside your window.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor , and please accept my apologies for the disappointment you experienced during your visit.
With a hotel as busy as ours , we are continually working on the upkeep of the building , both internally and externally , and I fully appreciate that although we work hard to get it right at every opportunity for every guest , this will not always happen.
The main project that we are working on currently is painting the hotels exterior , which as you can imagine is a large undertaking that requires scaffolding around the section of the building on which the works are being carried out.
I should emphasise that we allocate guest rooms in accordance with the room types that they have booked , and I am happy to to reassure you that your room being located in a part of the building that had scaffolding outside it was solely because of the room type that you had booked , and the fact that you had booked through booking.com was not in anyway connected with this allocation.

We visited this hotel for a family break recently.

The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. We were also allowed to check-in before our scheduled time.

We used the pool and sauna room which was a bonus - the pool is small though, but ideal for a quick dip.

The breakfast was good and the bar prices were reasonable so all-in-all, a pretty good stay.

The only negatives are as follows:

1. No parking - hotel offer reduced car parking ticket price at a local car park.

2. We stayed on a Thursday evening and despite this, the town was pretty lively. So what? Depending on your reason to visit, the noise in the street below may be a bit too much for the light-sleepers who occupy rooms at the back of the hotel.

Despite these two minor points, I would definitely visit the hotel again.

Thank you

Thank you so much for having posted your lovely review on TripAdvisor following your recent visit.
Although we do not have any parking at our hotel , we have some very helpful information available on the "contact" page on our website which provides details of many of the car parking options around the city (location , tariffs etc) , which might be of use to you ahead of your next visit.
Im really happy to see that you enjoyed your family visit , and even happier to read that you will be visiting our hotel again.

We had a really good stay. The hotel is well positioned, full of character and the staff are really friendly and responsive.

The food is good, the bar well-stocked and the swimming pool is an added bonus.

We have stayed several times before and will no doubt be staying again.

Room Tip: Sea views are best, especially from the 4th floor

Good value for money with a prime central location. Sea facing room has a great view.
Staff polite and friendly, room clean if a little tired (but ok for 3*).
Pool was as shown in the hotel pictures.
The great location comes with noise thought, day and night. On the second floor this was fairly intrusive, but less bad sea facing than city facing at night.
Very suitably if you’re in Brighton to party, might be tiring otherwise.
