We booked 5 nights in Brighton; I looked at the reviews before and chose something that looked classy and special for our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed with Blanch House. We were welcomed past the grand Edwardian exterior to a sophisticated bar and entrance area adorned with fresh flowers. An art deco thirties feel runs through the public areas accompanied by gentle ambient music, we felt it was just so nice. The gentleman who greeted us said we were being upgraded to a bigger room, the Legacia. This was a very welcome surprise, the Legacia is an art deco themed room with walnut veneered furniture and a beautiful big bay window with sashed panes and a bathroom with the added glamour of a large roll top bath. WiFi throughout was very helpful when my android phone decided it was time to do a shutdown and update during our stay.
Our host and his team of staff could not have been more thoughtful or attentive, the fresh flowers in the room and the daily concern that we had a good day out each time we returned was sincere and informative. The parking is not ideal but again our helpful hosts provided daily parking permits and took time to ensure the scratch-off bits were done correctly.
Breakfast was very good, well cooked and personal requests encouraged. The buffet bar looked splendid and fresh every day with huge sweet red grapes and other fruits plus the usual cereals as accompaniment. Homemade biscuits in the room were eagerly devoured by my husband.
The Brighton Pavilion and the Marina were well worth visiting, the Lanes is absolutely full of jewellery shops so a good place to visit if you like to spend money on bling and sparkles. We thought that Brighton is a good base to explore the wonderful South Downs, the Seven Sisters and some of the smaller seaside towns nearby which also well worth a visit.
Our host helped us out with the bags to the car, they were rather heavy and if we go to Brighton again I hope that we can stay at Blanch House

Room tip: The room we stayed in faced the street and got lots of sun in the evening

Staying here with friends for the weekend, from the minute you arrive you are welcomed with smiles and warmth. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the homemade biscuits in the room are fabulous. The attention to detail is commendable.
Great locally sourced breakfasts, homemade preserves & lemon curd.
Fantastic bar which is a really nice place to chill.
Yes we will definitely return.

Room tip: Look at the sizes on the website to determine which room you require.

My boyfriend treated me to a weekend stay here for my birthday, we had a really lovely room, very spacious and love the art deco interior. Bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was really great, although I was quite worse for wear Sunday morning to enjoy it again properly! Staff were really lovely particularly at the bar, and loved the cocktails too..thanks for a lovely stay

Both my GF and I were very impressed with every aspect of this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. The staff and owner went out of their way to be helpful which makes the difference when staying away from home.

The room was very small with a very small bathroom. View was of a wall. The toilet shower room was so small I could not sit comfortably on the toilet as the sink was in the way.
The extract fan in the toilet shower room did not work so any smells or steam from the bathroom went into the room which was gross.
At breakfast we had our order taken and then waited for 50 minutes. They served other people who came down after us before us. then when breakfast came it was not what we ordered. They did not get the chance to correct it as they never asked if everything was ok and did not give us any attention subsequently. We paid £150 for a double room for 1 night. A very poor experience.
