Fantastic stay at this quirky hotel. We stayed in the Gresham Blake room which was lovely. Loved the old record player with vintage records. Staff were all really friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend!

The Hotel had been recommended to us by our much traveled elder Son and our Daughter in Law.They were certain that we would enjoy spending an evening at the
Boutique Hotel as part of a visit to Brighton mainly for a day at the Races. The Hotel was great fun although we couldn't be certain that a couple of old timers like us had ever visited. Clearly, it is geared to a younger generation but none of the staff ever gave us the feeling that we weren't welcome. The staff are all young but very professional and clearly enjoy their work. We stayed in the Soul Supreme Room on the 3rd floor, furnished in true Motown style with purple bed covers, and the walls decorated with Album covers featuring the Supremes and many other Motown stars.
The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom perfectly adequate and the seating in the large room comfortable.Breakfast in the ground floor bar area was very good as was the helpful nature of the staff, always quick to open a door to help. The hotelis adjacent to an excellent underground car park, another major plus. We will be back pre-Christmas to once again tour The Lanes. Coupled with a trip to the Races, this was a special couple of days.

Room Tip: All rooms are differently themed. Do try the Soul Supreme.

I booked this hotel for our 3rd wedding anniversary after reading about it in a magazine. The rooms are all themed and vary hugely in price. We were in the Motown Room - dedicated to - yes you've guessed.... Motown! It was a purple and gold theme with a record player and a selection of old Motown vinyl records.
My husband absolutely loved it and that's why we went. However, as a very regular traveller (I;m away 1-2 nights most weeks) I felt it was more shabby than chic. The room really needed a tidy up. It wasn't exactly dirty but it was shabby. The bathroom was tiny and whilst the shower worked the whole bathroom needs replacing.
So for my review - if you're looking for something different and THAT is more important than a perfect bedroom then this is your place. The bed linen was clean and the bed very comfortable. We probably won't come again - we've ticked it off the list and for what it's worth I personally don't think it's suitable for families. It's definitely an adult hotel.
Breakfast was good enough and included in the price. The staff were all very friendly, pleasant and helpful.

I stayed here with 6 girls last weekend. The rooms were great, the bar was great, the cocktails and breakfast were great... really quirky. Everyone there was really helpful and friendly - nice to be greeted with a smile every time you saw them.

It is quite lively/noisy but we enjoyed that and joined in - not necessarily the best choice if you want peace and quiet!

5 mins walk from the pier/lanes and we could see the sea from our window which was great. NCP car park right there so that was nice and easy too.

Downsides if I had to think of some - maybe the stairs - they are steep and quite narrow in places. There is a small lift though. We had no iron in our room which was annoying. Apart from that, absolutely no complaints
