Derek and Gary are absolutely fantastic hosts who cater to your every need and are genuinely decent human beings.

They made our short but sweet stay amazing. We were treated with beverages on arrival and found the accomadation really earnt it's 5* rating.

Breakfast was amazing. I've never had eggs and bacon cooked so well followed by a croissant fresh out the oven.

The hotel room was spotless and everything smelt fresh like new. The bedding provided soft support and comfort for both me and my wife.

Will we return? 100% yes!!

10/10.

My daughter and I stayed here for a couple of nights and loved it. Derek and Garry looked after us brilliantly. They run a cosy guest house, really close to the sea and just 10 mins walk to the Lanes and North Laine and loads of great restaurants and cafes. Breakfast is yum. Lots of fresh fruit and the most delicious bacon and eggs!! Our favourite meal by far was, at the recommendation of Derek, the Spanish tapas restaurant in town, Casa Don Carlos. Thank you both..... and happy birthday Garry!

Room Tip: Our rooms and showers were smallish but there may be larger rooms available.

From the moment that we arrived in the Cavalaire we were made to feel right at home, Derek and Garry are wonderful hosts and they really go above and beyond the call of duty.
The room that we had was small but spotlessly clean and a lovely contemporary feel. The bed was really comfortable and the linens were wonderfully soft which made for a wonderful nights sleep every night for our three night stay.
The cooked breakfast selection was fantastic with something for everyone from fresh pancakes to wonderful Omelettes, special mention for the local dry cured bacon which was probably some of the best that I have ever tasted and it was all perfectly executed with a lovely selection of fresh fruit from the buffet.
10/10 for the guys, we cannot wait to come back.

On arrival we were met by Garry and Derek who were both charming and immediately offered us drink, we chose a beer and glass of wine, which we were able to take up to our room and put into the mini fridge. As we arrived with quite a lot of luggage, the owners offered to upgrade us to a larger room without charge, simply to make our stay more comfortable. The room (no.9) and en-suite were perfectly clean and very spacious and the extra details, such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, sweets, toiletries etc. were very welcome and made us feel at home. We didn't have breakfast as we had other plans, but it looked amazing. Parking was made available to us next door, which was great as we didn't realise how difficult and expensive it was to park in Brighton. The location was great, near to bars and restaurants and to the sea and front line attractions, but far enough away to not be disturbed by noise. (Other than the Seagulls, which made a trip to Brighton all the more authentic!). Thoroughly recommended to one and all.

Thanks to Garry and all the staff for making this a lovely stay in Brighton. You were super welcoming and helpful with all our requests. The rooms were fresh, modern and clean, but similarly the house retained lots of traditional character. The freshly cooked breakfast was tasty and lots of selection. A big recommend to anyone staying in Brighton - the love and care of everyone in this independently run guesthouse was evident for all to see. Just a stone’s throw from the beach but far enough away from the bustle of the crowds to make it relaxing. I know where I’m staying in Brighton next time.
