We were down for a wedding and this was the most convenient location at an affordable price. We'd never used a YH before, but had read the reviews and knew what to expect. The room was clean, as was the en suite. We got back late and thankfully managed to get the last parking space. Breakfast was good the following morning. The only complaint was the consideration of some of the other guests who got back later than us. They were loud, as were the hand driers they seemed to need to use continually for 5-10 minutes!

Dear s arnold88,

Thank you for your kind review and for scoring us so highly, we were delighted to provide accommodation for the wedding guests and were pleased to hear that everything went off without a hitch. Despite the numerous notices reminding late night revelers to consider other guests when arriving back late, there is always the inconsiderate few. The hand dryers are programmed to switch off after a certain time and our apologies for these contributing to the disturbance. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

Me and 11 of my friends came from London for a week's holiday in Swanage and stayed at YHA Swanage in late August 2021.

The hostel was very easy to get to with public transport, only a 5-10min walk from the bus station. The walk was nice but was up a steep hill towards the end, however, the view from the hostel entrance was beautiful.

Check-in was seamless with a very friendly member of staff on the desk, and within 5 mins of arriving, we were already unpacking in our rooms. The rooms were perfectly sized for the amount of us staying, and apart from having slightly below average ventilation, were absolutely perfect. Each of our 2 private rooms was allocated a toilet and shower in the communal areas, making us feel very covid safe.

The self-catering kitchen was very nice, and had plenty of pans and cutlery, and was very clean. There was enough space to put un-chilled food, although there was a slight lack of fridge space. The dining room was also spotless and very friendly, with more than enough space for 12 to sit and dine. The lounge space was very very welcoming and comfy and was my favourite part of the accommodation.

After a nice 4 night stay at the accommodation, check out was super simple, we only had to put our keycards away and then leave.

Overall, this was a practically flawless stay at YHA Swanage and a key factor in our perfect holiday in Swanage.

Room tip: Each room is allocated a toilet and shower, so en-suite may not be worth the extra cost

YHA Swanage is in a quiet residential area but only 5 minutes walk into central Swanage. The staff are very welcoming and the facilities and services are great. Our room and all communal areas were spotless. We shared a 4 bed en-suite room and couldn't fault it. Thank you x
