“A Scandi treat tucked away in rural Dorset”

Thanks to a great recommendation, we found ourselves tucked up at The Coppice this weekend. It was a wonderful cozy get away after a day spent in wellies at the End of the Road Festival (much to the envy of our camping friends!). The wooden framed Coppice studio, surrounded by trees and with nothing but birdsong to break the silence, is the perfect Scandinavian-style hideaway. There's everything you could want inside - a super comfy bed (along the glorious memory foam lines) with plump pillows, chairs to watch the huge flat screen TV if desired (though we lay in bed and watched the boxset of Spaced - again, another great find!). Breakfast was fresh bread, organic butter and milk and lovely locally produced preserves - the marmalade was truly delicious. I especially liked the organic products in the bathroom. We wish we could have stayed longer and explored the local area the next day but we were back for more music and muddy festival fun the next day. My advice would be to book early for this place as once the word gets out, it's going to be a firm favourite....

“quiet, brigth, modern furnitured, own terrace in nice garden, kind host”
Reviewed 27 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I stayed 8 days in this quiet, bright, comfortable, modern furnitured apartment with prefect equiped little kitchen, nice little bathroom, own terrace in green garden.
The hostfamily very kindly and supply you if you want with a starter breakfast and other things you need.
The surroundings is lovely for walking around ( differnt footpathes to Shaftesbury - the best with wellington boot) and a lot of outher walks.
Long distance jogging to "Win Green" is an nice adventure and I ride a lot of long (40 miles) or short cycle tours with my own bike on a lot of quiet nice littel roads.
With bus to Weymouth (2 h , 8 pound), or with train from Tisbury for example to torquay (2h, 25 pound with bycicle)

“Fantastic property in stunning surroundings with lovely helpful hosts”
Reviewed 22 August 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed at the Coppice Retreat over the Jubilee Weekend in June this year. Gabriela and Neil were fantastic hosts who couldn't do enough for us. We were their first guests and even though it was all new to them, our stay was perfect!
The property is set in the most stunning Dorset countryside with lots of walks right on the door step. We visited lots of the local attractions and journeyed down to the coast which was only about a 30 min drive from the Coppice.
The actual apartment is spacious and totally self contained, the kitchen area is of a very high standard with lovely little touches like locally sourced jams and fresh bread on our arrival. The shower room is also of a very high standard and there is a large wardrobe area with room to store luggage too. At the front is its own little garden area which is lovely to sit out in for breakfast!
Since our visit, a porch has been built which is great for storing walking boots, etc.. we recommended this to them and what is so great is that Garbriela and Neil really listened to our feedback and taken on board any points we made.
We have no hesitation in recommending a visit to The Coppice and are already planning our next visit!
