“Great location for a family holiday”

Bramble Farm Cottages are in a good location close to Ferndown, a few miles north of Bouremouth and its beaches (the excellent Alum Chine etc.). The New Forest and bike hire in Burley is close by too (around 20 mins by car). Also well worth going to Mudeford for crabbing with the kids, Brownsea Island (using ferry from Sandbanks) and Studland/Swanage using the chain ferry also from Sandbanks. Also convenient to have Tesco Express, pubs and large Tesco/Sainsbury very close by.

The Old Barn has a brand new kitchen, bathroom etc. so is very comfortable inside with all the amenities (apart from washer and dryer inside the property but believe there may be shared?). The downsides of the let are that its a few miles from Bournemouth airport so there are around 7 commercial flights a day and some turbo props from the flying school so some noise but not massively intrusive (quiet compared with a Gatwick but there was a 6.30-7 am Ryanair which flew over the property). Also there is no garden (only a small patio) and parking in front of the property with other lets adjacent but there is countryside around with some nice walks including next to the river. For younger children this is a bit of a downside as no obvious place for them to kick a football about or run around but for adults there is an area to sit out.

Overall we had a very enjoyable time at the Old Barn, helped by some lovely weather that week and despite some of the negatives I have pointed out the location in a rural setting close to the amenities was a real plus. Ideal for a group of adults who want to explore the area.

“Comfy, spacious cottage.”
Reviewed 29 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We had a wonderful comfortable stay at The Barn this week.... It's situated in a great location and nearby attractions are a 1/2 HR drive away. The cottages are located at the end of Bournemouth airport runway so you do hear airplanes!but we didn't mind this at all. Absolutely beautiful cottage, spacious and well equipped. Two lovely bathrooms and a massive kitchen. The owners were always happy to answer questions etc.....Our only criticisms are that the cutlery could be better and we found lots of cobwebs..... Other than we would def be re booking for future stays.

“Excellant accommodation in ideal location”

The cottage was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was pristine, the rooms having ample storage space.
Having two bathrooms was a bonus and the downstairs shower room was exceptionally spacious.
The kitchen was bright and sunny and the provision of fresh bread, milk and butter - not to mention a bottle of wine- was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated.

We would certainly recommend the property.

Thank you Matt, We had a great holiday. The barn was lovely and spacious, modern and very well kitted out. Every room was very clean and the shower room and bathroom spotless. The beds and linen were all excellent. The kitchen and sitting room was laid out well and plenty of room for all of us. Thank you for the cot and high chair and lovely children's books and DVD's, a home from home. The milk and couple of other things in the fridge were very thoughtful.
The location of the property is ideal for visiting Bournemouth, Poole etc. There is a pub very close by which serves some good meals. Make sure you add Monkey World on to your list of things to do if you stay in this super holiday home. Thanks again for a great holiday.
