Six of us booked up to stay here from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 November. We booked up three Superior rooms and were given rooms 1, 10 & 12. All three rooms we found to be clean and perfect for our needs. The Hotel itself is very close to the sea front off a side road. It has parking which is advertised. We were actually all mislead with regards the parking as we all thought the parking was free. However the day we were due to come down we all received through an email via Hotel.com from the Best Western Connaught Hotel & Spa informing us that unless we had booked directly with them or through Best Western we would have to pay £10 per car per night for our stay. This is quite underhand and if you have booked up through a third party to stay here be aware you will have to pay this.
We all tried not to let the car parking fee's spoil our visit. However we did feel kind of cheated with this policy they have. When we had all upgraded to have three Superior Rooms with breakfast and even had an evening meal and numerous drinks throughout our stay. Car Parking should have been free!!
Anyway the staff we met were excellent and the atmosphere and cosy rooms downstairs with fires were superb. Our thanks to Tania who served us at the bar many times and always had a smile and could not do enough for us👌🍷🍾. Also a big thank you to Tomasz who was our waiter during our evening meal and he was a very warm, friendly and knowledgeable young man👌🥩🍖.
Breakfast was excellent each morning with a superb wide and varied selection which would satisfy anyone. All breakfast options are self service buffet style including all your drinks Coffee, Tea & Orange Juice etc.
We all had a great breakaway but just remember to book direct if you want to avoid the unjustified parking fee's!!!🅿️👎
