I recently relived some old family holidays by staying here for a few days.
Location: Pretty good. Both the seafront and the town centre, with its shops and restaurants, are only a few minutes’ walk away.
Reception: Fine. Those staffing the reception desk were always friendly and helpful.
Accommodation: My room was down a quiet side corridor. For me as a single traveller, it was plenty big enough. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well appointed.
Food and drink: I took breakfast all four days I was here and dinner two of the four evenings. The breakfast buffet lacked much in the way of fresh fruit, but was otherwise fine – tasty too. Dinner was mostly in the traditional English vein, and if you like that (I do), it was good, and not expensive. The servers were attentive and friendly.
The bar is OK, though the layout is a bit awkward.
Other amenities: The pool area is rather small, but pleasant. And, thank goodness, the pool is heated!
I've praised the reception and restaurant staff here, but, in fact, the staff at this hotel were, with one rather striking exception, all helpful, courteous, and interested. Well done!More
