Easy walk to the harbour. Clean and comfortable bed, towels changed every day. Good cooked breakfast.huge shower with plenty of hot water, but taps on sink in bathroom needed to run for ages to get hot water through. BUT.. needs a good deep clean.....dust on TV and TV stand was thick enough to write 'clean me' The window sill was filthy dirty. Parking an issue but we managed. Will not go there again.

Location is great, Brian the owner a lovely gent. On the downside I wouldn't call it a 4 Star Hotel stayed in a lot better 2 Star Accommodation. Found it to be very dusty and grubby, needs a lot of updating and a thorough clean. Bed was hard and pillows flat.,could go on ...£90.00 for 2 nights was a good price but expected the rooms to be better. Didn't complain as didn't see any point as per other reviews spoke for themselves.Needless to say sorry won't be back.

Mick P, Manager at Hudson Hotel, responded to this reviewResponded 19 February 2018

I am glad the location of Hudson met with the guests' approval.

To pick up on the points they have raised, firstly, I would, with respect, point out that Hudson is graded as a 4 star guest house, and not a 4 star hotel, so unfortunately the guest has not made a fair comparison if considering facilities with that of far more expensive 4 star hotels, where I should think a similar room would be more than double our price.

Secondly, the hotel rooms are cleaned regularly and thoroughly and in common with all other hotels and guest houses, there is a running programme of refurbisment and redecoration, along with carpet cleaning, which takes place before the season starts in Easter.

Lastly, the guests reserved a double en-suite room @ £45 per night which they have agreed was a very reasonable price. They were given a larger than average double balcony en suite room. The price included a full English breakfast with an unlimited wide choice of extra dishes, including cereals, salmon, toast, fresh fruit and yoghurts, one would normally associate with a 4-star hotel.

Most of our guests seem delighted with the reasonably-priced high standard of accommodation we provide at Hudson, reflected by the high numbers of those returning time and time again. I am sorry to hear that the guests concerned were disappointed on this occasion.

Limited funds helped me choose this little b&b, so for £81 two nights for two I wasn’t expecting too much. What a pleasant surprise ! A nice spacious room, free WiFi and a lovely breakfast. What a bargain it was. The b&b was nice and close to the town centre and had free parking. If I had to find fault I would say the place needed a bit of a dust around in places, but it was out of season and generally clean and tidy. The host and the young man that served us breakfast were helpful and friendly. We would definitely return
