We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay at the Haytor. A very friendly welcome to the hotel with complimentary tea and flapjacks was a lovely start to the evening. The hotel is really close to the harbour and local restaurants ( can recommend the Turkish). The room was very clean and the whole hotel is very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was superb freshly cooked to order with quality ingredients including lovely home made hash browns. Definitely worth staying.

The Haytor is well situated for Torquay harbour area, bus routes and some great eating places. It is set back from the road in well maintained grounds and so is a quiet oasis for relaxation or preparing for an evening out with a drink on the terrace in the late afternoon sunshine.
The interior of the property is to a very high standard in its furnishings and décor and shows off a real flair for interior design. Our room (no 8) had been recently refurbished and extended and provided a delightful accommodation with its comfortable bed, stunning bathroom and massage armchairs. We could not have been more comfortable - and a well stocked mini bar should the inclination arise.
Breakfasts were a particular feature of our stay here - with a good range of options. We enjoyed the home baked muffins, and the quality of the cooked breakfasts prepared by Roger and Peter and served up in the most friendly manner by Jean.
Haytor is close to many first class eating places and Peter certainly gave us great advice prior to arrival so that we were able to book ahead for the best of these (The Orange Tree, No 7 Fish Bistro, Old Vienna) and also provided useful information on the several walking routes from the hotel and other locations of interest.
A most enjoyable stay from start to finish - much to recommend here!

Room Tip: Room 8 - nicely proportioned with superb bathroom and space to sit and relax (armchairs with massage)

Roger and Peter were the perfect hosts, our stay was fantastic, Jean who takes care of breakfast is a fabulous asset. What a wonderful lady!!

I was at a sailing event all week and the fact that my sailing gear was washed and dried every day was above and beyond in my opinion.....the times I've had to put wet sailing gear on every morning at events.....well maybe you can imagine.

The attention to detail the guys have and the cleanliness of the hotel (for someone with a dust allergy) was second to none.

They have a clear idea of what they want for the hotel and their guests and absolutely nail it in every department. Fabulous!!!

The information pack in the room, for meals out especially, was fantastic.
They use all local produce with details of exactly where it came from, which for us, is well worth the extra time and effort they have dedicated.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in.

I brought my mum here for a birthday weekend treat and we wasn't disappointed. Greeted on arrival by Peter who showed us to our suite which was absolutely beautiful, then was offered a complimentary coffee and homemade flapjack which we had down at the lounge/bar.
This hotel is spotlessly clean with a high standard of decor.
Breakfast is good with a varied selection of local produce.
The beds are so comfortable that I didn't want to get up in the mornings.
This hotel is located in a very good position - walking distance to the harbour, restaurants, bars, shops, and the Princess Theatre.
Would definitely return to this hotel.

Me and my husband have just stayed here for 7 days. It is a lovely hotel, well maintained, with lovely decoration. We was greeted by Roger who checked us in, he was very friendly and helpful, Peter was always on hand as well if we needed anything, nothing was too much trouble, both was was easy to approach. The Hotel is very clean, spacious, has a lovely bar, and patio area. Our room was spacious, lovely kingsize bed, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The Breakfast was plentiful and was delicious, which was part self service for cereals, drinks, fruit etc. Jean a lovely lady serves you with your breakfast, toast and hot drinks. It is just a short walk into town, where you will find plenty to do, and places to eat. Would definitely recommend The Hole in the Wall, for a meal.
