Description: Welcome to Al-Farid Mezz Bar & RestaurantUmar ibn ‘Al-Farid’ was an Arab poet, his poetry is entirely suffic ,and he was esteemed mystic poet of the Arabs. Our head chef has created a thoughtful menu that delights the taste buds. A firm favourite is the mezze, an array of small succulent dishes. The mezze comprised both cold and hot dishes and offers a wealth of colour flavour, texture and aroma. An attribute of Moroccan food is the fact that is healthy as well as tasty and filling.A choice of traditional Moroccan dessert is an offer to complements the meal, expect Baklava a sweet pastry, and Mhallableyh, rice pudding with rose water. Also the drink menu is Moroccan national drink, Arak, which has an aniseed base, and a variety of fruit juices. To finish your meal you cannot miss out on one of our Moroccan coffee, flavoured wit natural cardamom, cinnamon or rose water. No bona fide Moroccan meal complete without smoking an authentic hooka pipe. Each day the water pipes are packed with fresh flavoured tobaccos, choose between apples, strawberry, cherry, rose, grape or fruit cocktail.

It was a busy Sunday night but the team squeezed us into a small table at the back of the restaurant, and from moment we sat down to leaving were delighted with the place. The menu pretty extensive, with around 40 Mezze dishes and at 6 for £45 INCLUDING a bottle of vino was great value. The team fall over themselves to help, and the atmosphere is wonderful, with the drapes, music, scents and shishas all adding a little something without stealing anything from the great food.

We visited Al Farid in April, when we came to Exeter to watch our team play rugby. There were 8 of us then and everything was great and the good was excellent. We said then that we'd definitely be back and that's what we did last Saturday.
Reza gave us the best table in the house overlooking the little square and we ordered the six dishes to share and wine, per couple. The girls serving were delightful and very helpful and made us feel very comfortable. The food was outstanding and I'm gutted that we won't be back til next season, September 2019 at the earliest. Keep up the excellent work, see you then!

Have been meaning to try this restaurant on one of our many trips to Exeter! The food is authentic well prepared and delicious........ we have dined in most countries in theMiddle East , North Africa and the Levant and this is good....... and it is reasonably priced....... service is adequate but could be a little warmer in approach ( we expect that from Middle Easteners! ).........we will be back ......... in fact it will be a number one choice having tried numerous average restaurants in Exeter,
