A great location, as it is very close to the town, and also the beach. Free parking is available, which is a bonus in St Ives. Our room was on the second floor, and was smallish but well appointed. No view unfortunately, but not an issue for us.
The hotel looked to have been recently refurbished to a high standard.
The welcoming lounge and breakfast area is nice and spacious.
Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of cereals, toast and pastries, plus a menu from which you could make your selection. The smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on sourdough was beautiful!
Very friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We really love staying at the Primrose. It always makes our stay in St.Ives so relaxing and a special yearly treat!

The rooms are great and so nicely put together, the staff is super helpful (thanks Mihaka for recommending Blas Burger the first time we visited, we have since been a hundred times!), the views are amazing, the breakfast....outstanding! I have never had better poached eggs, or a better hot chocolate! and I consume a lot of those. Also the variety of the breakfast is really vast and they sweetly let you mix and match to create your own favorite hot breakfast plus there’s a cold buffet too, with delicious crossaints & co!

Also, the entire decor is so beautiful, and there are delicious homebaked afternoon treats, and the playlist in the lobby/breakfast area is really nice. My husband and I shazamed several songs :)

Thanks again for such a great time and the positive energy that Primrose is radiating. We were able to once again recharge our batteries for the crazy jungle that is London.

Thank you for such a lovely review, it so appreciated by all the team. We are the same as you , addicted to the Blas burgers, especially their homemade piccalilli. Look forward to seeing you again.

We stayed in room 2 (I think) at the front of the hotel. Well equipped bedroom, and good bathroom - especially for cleaning ourselves up after a long walk along the coast in the rain!

Appreciation and thanks to the welcome and helpfulness of the staff.

The reason for four rather than five stars is that the price of the hotel was not reflected in the quality of the breakfast buffet (for those not eating cooked food). Rather tired looking bananas, sliced bread for self-toasting, few cereals .... So this felt like a little let-down in the hotel's value for money.

Thank you for letting us know your thoughts on the buffet breakfast. We always take on board constructive criticism and we were already looking at another local supplier for fresh bread which will be implemented this week. We try to provide a varied range of buffet breakfast of homemade granola, homemade compote, local fresh natural yoghurt, several types of seed, coconut flakes, other cereals, fresh fruit, freshly baked croissants. We are regularly reviewing the content of our buffet with our chef and hope that if you return you will be very happy with your breakfast.

This was a wonderful find for us. A very comfortable and inviting hotel where the staff were friendly and more than willing to offer my partner and me advice on where to eat, drink and visit. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of options on the menu (from the kitchen) as well as at the buffet table which was well-stocked with fresh fruit, croissants and cereal. Our room was fab with a comfortable bed and a shower I simply didn’t want to get out of! We found the 5 minute stroll into the centre of St Ives very easy with delightful views. There are plenty of options for dinner/drinks in town and the hosts were more than happy to direct us to a few of their favourites. We had a really great stay and will definitely be back! Thanks Primrose team!

Just returned from a 2 night break in the stunning Primrose Valley Hotel (although I believe they have just renamed Primrose House).

This gem of a hotel is just to die for!

The location is AMAZING, a stones throw from the beach and one of the only hotels in St Ives with parking!

The minute we checked in we were greeted by Mihaka who gave us a warm welcome. He’s a great guy and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit during our stay, which was a nice touch. Nothing was ever too much trouble despite several small requests we made, we were very well accomodated and they really went out of their way to make sure our stay was unforgettable.

The hotel itself is stunning, with a real homely feel. The decor is clean and fresh with well appointed bathrooms. Our room had a sumptuous roll top bath which was heavenly! The breakfasts are fantastic with locally sourced ingredients and a wide choice...you certainly won’t go hungry!! On the subject of food, the free chocolate brownie cakes were a naughty but indulgent treat and were thoroughly enjoyed with a cup of tea on our balcony overlooking the beach and sea! Thank you for a wonderful stay Primrose Valley, we are already booking our next stay at your gorgeous hotel!! X
