The hotel is located above Porthminster Beach and is in a quiet location (although our visit is in December so not sure what the summer season would be like). It is a 5 minute walk to town and the beaches. The staff are all really friendly and could not be more helpful. The room we had was a deluxe with sea view and so worth it. The breakfast is very good. Nice sized room and bathroom. Comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

Stayed in room 10 at side of building which was nice and comfortable , having asked about a sea view room only to be told there wasn't any available
When I went for breakfast was told no hot buffet as hotel was very quiet, a bit confusing regarding my allocated room, but not a problem as the full English was still available
A very good choice of breakfast menu although I enjoyed my stay it was let down by the full English taste wise
Lovely friendly staff on site and would recommend a stay here if u don't mind an uphill walk to hotel from the centre of st ives

unfortunately at the time of your stay, although quiet, our sea view rooms were all allocated - we only have 11 rooms with views to the front.
At certain times we do serve cooked breakfast to order this enables our guests to still have all the same choices but cooked nice and fresh when they are ready - at the same time we do still offer our cold buffet with yogurts, cereals, fruits and juices.
I'm very sorry that you did not enjoy your Full Cornish Breakfast but glad you experienced our lovely friendly staff.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback
kind regards

This is a lovely quaint and quirky hotel. A last minute booking. Excellent Value. It does exactly what it says on its own website descriptor. We stayed in room 44 and it was a great surprise. It is an attic studio apartment with a small kitchenette. This room is called the executive suite. Beautiful views over the bay and the accommodation allowed us to sit and watch the ever changing views. We are quite chilled after the visit . There several good walks down to the town. We had a great catch up with family. We were there for a wedding in a hotel across the road. The Chy- An - Albany hotel made a more affordable choice and allowed us a longer stay in a far bigger room. The restaurant was good value with a quality menu choice. The chefs cooked to order. And didn’t disappoint. The hotel staff were very friendly and ensured we were comfortable and well catered for throughout our stay. Thank you team!

It is located on the outskirts of the town but within a fairly easy walking distance, the benefit being it is quiet. Great views from the front of the building especially the breakfast room.
The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly.

Room Tip: My room was at the rear of the hotel and was fine, but when I return I will have a front room with a view of the bay

We stayed in room 29 for three nights and really enjoyed our stay! It was a 'restricted sea view' but We were very happy with the view (see photo) Very warm, comfortable room with plenty of space for us. Bed comfortable. Staff friendly. Lovely breakfast with cereal, fruit, croissants etc from the cold buffet and a hot cooked breakfast buffet ,with other options to order from the menu. DIY toast, but actually nice to have hot toast when you want it! Nice lounge with sea view and daily papers. We didn't eat other meals at the hotel or use the bar.We managed to park in the front car park during our stay. Great position for the town with some uphill walking! We would stay again.
