Had a lovely 4 nights 5 days stay at this hotel booked as a Shearings coach trip. We upgraded to a lovely big sea view room. We were more than happy with it. Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Plenty of wardrobe space. The staff were wonderful. Food was more than adequate, plenty of choice. St Ives and the surrounding areas are stunning. Very hilly, so you certainly feel your calf muscles by the end of your stay.

We went on a Shearings holiday in April and found the hotel half way up the hill out of st ives but you had some wonderful views over the bay. The bedroom was ok but not much storage space just a wardrobe with shelves at the side and a couple of drawers. the bathroom was small just had a shower, my husband likes a bath especially if we have been out walking. The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful. There was entertainment on every night. Just over the road and down a path is the railway station with trains to Penzance which we used as we wanted to walk to St Michaels Mount which is a lovely easy walk along the coast and flat. We had a lovely day out there. Would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel and was quiet at night, although a road ran down the back and was busy in the mornings

We booked a 4 night stay here & if it hadn’t been for the fact that my husband had already driven 500 miles to get there, we would have turned around & gone home. After having checked in, we then had to carry our cases up 4 flights of stairs as there was no lift. Once in the room, we discovered the sea view we had booked had a balcony filled with rubble & bird droppings & 2 large trees in the way. The toilet cistern was not connected to the wall. TV was not working & my husband had to crawl under the dressing table (which had several live wires underneath it) to plug in the aerial. The carpet was badly stained & when we pulled back the bed cover, the bottom sheet was stained at both sides of the bed. The decor was very shabby & on the way to our room, we noticed a bottle of cider & a glass stood in the corridor. We mentioned all these to the receptionists (1 of whom I felt really sorry for as it was her first day) who were very good & offered us the choice of another 3 rooms, all of which were equally as bad or worse than the one we had. We spoke to the manageress about the problems & the fact that we had travelled 500 miles & wasted 2 hours of our holiday trying to sort this out, to be told that it was not her problem. There are stairs both back & front of the hotel which would be a big problem for someone less able than ourselves as the back steps are extremely steep & go straight into the road with no footpath in between. The car park we booked was nothing more than a pigeon infested shed with little room to manoeuvre.
In all fairness, we did get a full refund & stayed in the room for the night but if you are thinking of staying at this hotel, think twice.

My partner & I stayed at the Bay St Ives as part of a May Bank Holiday Weekend break.

Situated overlooking the coast of St Ives, with stunning views, it's perfectly situated to soak in all the resort has to offer.
Literally a stone throw away is the train station, allowing access to other local attractive local towns, if required.

A five minute walk from the Bay Hotel takes you into the heart of St Ives to enjoy the array shops, restaurants and craft outlets.

In terms of the Bay Hotel itself, regarding custoner service, I was very impressed indeed.
Staff are welcoming, from the moment you step through the front door. They want you to have the best experience possible.
At meal times waiting staff are very polite, attentive & every effort made to provide for your needs with a smile.
The small details mean a lot.

Rooms are clean, tidy & pleasantly presented. Nothing ostentatious, but certainly perfectly adequate for anyone to rest their weary body at day end.

In conclusion I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting St Ives.
As far as a great customer experience, you can rest assured.

I will definitely stay at this hotel again on any future visits to St Ives.
A big thumbs up to the Bay St Ives.

We arrived after a long journey to be given our room key quickly and told evening meal was ready when we were, so all good in that area. Food very good for what we paid, nice waiting staff in dining room. This room was quite crammed but you kept same table throughout the break which prevented any scrabbling, they could also do with allowing you into dining room as you arrive as it was a bit of a free for all at breakfast as doors were not open till bang on 8. Our downside was our room. Although bed comfortable and sheets clean, that's as far as it went. I had to clean the shower before we even dared to get into it. There was pink bacteria mouldy all over tiles, which did wipe off easily but had obviously been there for some weeks. Also I was extremely glad I'd brought my slippers as the carpet in bedroom left a lot to be desired. A few touches here and there and it could have been very good.the best part of whole trip though was JEFF our driver from a previous holiday, at last minute he took over as usual driver in hospital after swollowing a bone. He has to be the best driver shearrings have
