We first stayed at the Harbour Studio in 2013-14(review somehow been cancelled), the place then was tired, balcony furniture unusable due to rust, shower in need of replacement and outside wall damp with paint peeling in downstairs bedroom.
Having read that the cottage has had a refurb we decided to book another visit, we arrived on a Saturday afternoon and after having a look round we were surprised to find little change from our last visit.
The welcome pack consisted of a packet of biscuits and a small bottle of milk, luckily the shop was still open so we could buy some essentials, the shower cubicle while having a new shower seemed to have the old shower head that would only spray at waist height, the tiling in the shower had a lot of mould on the grout and sealant, the Aga had been recently switched off as it was still aired but with no lighting instructions
available we made do with the microwave, I tried to contact the house manager on the number provided but as it was a bank holiday weekend there was no reply or answerphone to leave a message. The balcony was clean enough with fairly new seats and luckily we spent quite a bit of time outside due to the weather being good.
The windows don't close properly and most are rotten and the outside paintwork is in serious need of repair.
I have given this property 3 stars only because of the location.
Polperro is a fabulous village but this place does not do it any favours.
I would not advise to stay here, as its 3 star accommodation at 5 star prices.
