My wife and I stayed at the cottage for 1 week in September this year. This was our first visit to Cornwall and we were unsure of what to expect upon arrival.
The cottage is right in the heart of the village; opposite the bakery and church (and close by to The Ship Inn - very handy!). The accommodation is split across three floors so I wouldn't recommend this for anybody with limited mobility - that said, the whole of the village (and Cornwall from what we experienced) is very hilly - very good for the leg muscles!
The cottage is probably one of the best-equipped we've ever stayed in; dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board and a whole host of kitchen utensils! We especially found the luggage trolley a useful addition when transporting luggage to and from the car on arrival / departure day.
The cottage comes with a car park space which is located just down the street. Please, please, please don't let this put you off. If you have been to this part of Cornwall before you'll already be aware that parking is a real premium and this space is really close and is such an easy walk (especially when you compare it to other cottages in the village and around the harbour!). I believe there is actually a service offered in the village from a guy who owns a quad and trailer who will transport luggage for you. We managed perfectly fine on our own though with a suitcase, walking equipment and provisions!
Before we travelled we did read a few reviews about the garden (steepness of the steps etc.). We spent very little time in the garden as we were out and about but again, we didn't find this a problem. To be honest, the views from the garden were beautiful and made up for any walk to the 'viewing' area of the garden. Again, this is typical of cottages (and some pubs!) in this area.
In short, if you are looking for a quaint, well-equipped cottage in a central part of Polperro / Cornwall, then please don't hesitate to book. We're already planning our next visit :-)
p.s the seagulls were quite loud (especially in the morning) but let's face it, you're choosing to stay in a harbour resort so this will be typical of this area!!!!
My partner & I loved this holiday cottage! It literally has everything you need, especially in the kitchen! The garden views were incredible, the steps even though slightly slippy were not a problem, a few previous reviews mentions all the steps but if you are able to walk up a flight of steps anyway then there's no problem! We took our dog, Fly, who loved it just as much, with lovely dog friendly details around the place & a great garden to explore. Most people in the village tended to have a dog and everywhere we went were super dog friendly! You definitely won't go hungry here either as there's so many food establishments to try out! The bakery & fudge shop opposite are ridiculously tempting! I would mention that this cottage is on the road to the harbour rather than on the harbour itself, didn't make a huge difference but not what we expected from photos and description but you don't get the views unless going to the garden. Only a minutes walk to the harbour though and a few minutes walk the other way for the car, which was great to have our own space, and it's secured as well. they also supplied Now TV and had entertainment & film package so if you're staying in for the night there's loads to chose from!
Thank you to whoever owns this cottage, you've done a truly great job!
Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean on arrival, top of the range appliances and good decor. Only issue was the stairs to garden are very steep and when wet was slippery so my mum couldn't make it up there.

We enjoyed our stay at this character cottage in the heart of Polperro. The car parking provided was close by and useful and the owners have thought of everything you could need at the cottage from books , jigsaws and DVDs to kitchen equipment and even a p.a.y.g mobile ( some networks have no coverage in Polperro) . Whilst the terraced garden was lovely don't forget anything as there are a lot of steps back down to the kitchen.
What a lovely place to stay....we had a great time. Everything you could possibly need is here. We decided we fancied a cream tea so popped over to the bakery to get scones, clotted cream and jam. I was back before the kettle had boiled!
The beds were very comfortable. We all slept well.
Very dog friendly, our dog loved it.
Amazing walks around Polperro, such a wonderful place.
Pubs are great and mostly dog friendly which is really nice. The food in the Blue Peter was very good and very busy even in November!
We will be back.
