This is the first time I have ever written a review but felt that I had to review this absolutely awesome property. I stayed in Rose Cottage with some friends and our children (3 adults and 3 children). This 3 bedroomed house is ideal, there was plenty of room for us all, and beautifully decorated. The rooms are easily big enough to accommodate 2 families without us feeling like we were on top of each other. When we arrived there, it was spotlessly clean and nice touch of the welcome pack of chocolates and tea/coffee. This house contains everything you would need at home, even providing towels should you need them. We brought what we would need for self catering but were pleasantly surprised to find washing up stuff, toilet rolls etc to get you started if you had forgotten anything. The dishwasher and washing machine were also a great bonus!
The kids were overjoyed with the internet facilities and especially netflix (as were the parents to keep them occupied). I genuinely can't think of anything I would need or wanted that wasn't there. We also took 2 dogs with us and the garden was easily big enough for them and us to relax in comfort. The decking area is so practical and the large inside and outside tables made mealtimes so easy. With regards to location, it is an ideal base for visiting many places in and around Cornwall. It is a nice 10 minute stroll into the centre of Polperro and the beach - passing many shops and pubs on the way. Some of the shops contain lovely locally crafted items, and it was a pleasure to look round them. Rose Cottage itself clearly contains locally sourced art and decoration from some of these places, so nice that we bought some for home. To go a little further afield, getting in to Looe is literally a 5-10 minute drive away where there are more shops and beach etc - and many tasty pasty shops!! We also travelled to Newquay from Rose Cottage, this again only took approx 40 minutes. My friends that I went with have stayed in places in and around Polperro many times and they stated have never stayed in such an amazing cottage, and definitely want to go again.
We stayed at Rose Cottage Polperro in Feb half term. Two adults a 6 yr old a 3 yr old and a baby. The property was amazing. It as a garage plus parking for another car. The brook runs along the back of the property but the garden is well fenced off so children cannot fall in. I have never slept so well but the brook made me sleep. It was lovely and quiet and a lovely walk down into the village or a short drive into Looe. There is a bus service if you don't want to drive.
The property is lovely and clean. Bed linen and towels provided. Beds made up for when you arrive.
The log burner was lovely and logs can be purchased locally for a reasonable price.
The children didn't want to go home
Stayed for a week, location was perfect as we didn't have to struggle with the luggage which can be an issue for places near the harbour - easily got the VW camper on the drive and garage big enough to fit a car in. Cottage was decorated really nicely and was well kitted out with everything you need for the week. Lovely having the brook behind the house, listening to the water in the garden, and hearing it at night with the windows open.
There were a couple of issues though - they have a damp problem in the main bathroom so the tiles had mould covering them. Also a leak in the en-suite shower with wet patches both sides of the fireplace downstairs. Reading the visitor book I think this has been an on-going issue since at least April and still not sorted which is a real shame. Due to this issue a few damp traps were placed around the house, hidden from plain sight but unfortunately in reach of children (under the bed and behind curtains), did mention to owners on comment sheet, so hopefully this will be sorted. Also had large mirrors which were not fixed to the wall so not child friendly, also at the wrong angle to do your hair. Sewing kit was also left in a bedroom drawer so again in reach of children.
If the damp issue was sorted would definitely rebook as apart from that it was a perfect base for a family holiday.
Would highly recommend this cottage - it was perfect for 6 people and had everything you could possibly ask for - real home from home. The location is perfect for a nice walk into Polperro with a pub/restaurant right on the corner, just a 2 minute walk from the front door! Better restaurants and bakery etc. further down the road, which is still only a 5 minute walk away.
Perfect weeks stay in a lovely little fishing village.

We've stayed here before with my family and had a wonderful time, so we recommended it to my in-laws and 6 of us visited in June this year. This is a lovely cottage, lots of character. Very clean and beautifully decorated. ideal location for waddling down into Polperro (after all the cream teas and fish we consumed!). The Crumplehorn down the road is a lovely little pub too, without about 45 seconds walking distance!
