Just spent the New Year in this hotel and enjoyed the food, the staff were very friendly and helpful and always smiling. Everywhere was well decorated, clean and well kept. Our room was huge with comfortable beds and bed linen and beautiful white towels .

Our first time in Newquay and when I booked I requested a sea view... I wasn't dissapointed....the room was clean as was the hotel. The staff were brilliant. Lovely friendly manner, where nothing was too much, happy to let us know about decent places to eat out, places of interest etc.... cannot comment about food,as we ate out every night, but for the price we paid for the room,it was well worth it. Yes the outside needs attention,I'm sure it's seen better days, and could be seen as slightly old fashioned, but don't let that put you off...it's in a great location, beaches on the doorstep. The indoor pool was fabulous, clean and good temperature. All in all we enjoyed our stay, and slept like babies...(the beds were so comfortable.... )

The hotel was clean, the heated pool was good, the room big and well furnished. Comfortable beds. We did not like the view because it was not a sea view. I guess it is better to book your room well in advance to get a good view. What we enjoyed most was the kindness of the staff and the owner of the hotel. They were very welcoming and understanding. Overall, our experience in the place was good.

Room Tip: I suppose the rooms with the best view would be the ones for doubles and singles, not the family rooms.

DIRE:Where do I start, we came her many years ago and in its day it was a top hotel. Now it is shabby and tired looking all round. It accommodates mainly hoards of older people on coach tours from Germany. The faults were
1. The food was awful, bland cold
2. The heated jacuzzi was freezing and I spoke to several others who said it had been the same since they arrived too - the hotel manager told me their I house "handyman" had checked it and said it was working fine. She gave some excuse that the jacuzzi would lose temperature the more people that used it! Not experienced that one anywhere else
3. The hot and cold taps were separate - the hot water was scalding hot and I am sure would far exceed safety regs, water out the cold tap was warm!
4. There was no menu for kids and they had the same portions as the adults
5. We had 2 teabags as part of the tea/coffee in the room and these never got refilled (good job for the Tescos express 2 doors down)
Would never return here ever again and certainly would not recommend

Room Tip: Non as would not recommend at all

My daughter and I have just stayed here and the receptionist was so lovely, I was ill when I arrived and she was wonderful, really helped me. The pool was great the room was clean and comfortable. The neighbours in the next room were really noisy, no fault of the hotel but staff asked them to be quiet and things improved. The breakfast needs some improvement I feel but the the staff made up for it with their attention to detail.

Room Tip: Only due to people staying next door who selfishly didn't have any thought for other people
