Lovely Travel lodge with lovely staff!, was really made to feel welcome by 2 girls. Blonde hair and brown hair girls. I travelled hundreds of miles and was quite on edge. But I was really made to feel welcome.

Booked one night for my boyfriends birthday, walked into a dark room, curtains drawn at 3pm - probably to hide the lovely view of the wall right across from our window. The room has a very basic cheap feel to it. Also there is NO CAR PARK HERE. Aldi underneath is 1.5 hour stay for customers only & has Parking Eye Cameras so be aware - Have to park at the local Railway station for a £10 charge and you will have to cross a busy road walking about 5 minutes to get here.. This is not stated on the website whilst booking. More on our room - quilt was the wrong way round - the basic quilt cover hangs open at the bottom (no buttons or poppers) and was tucked in to my left instead of at the bottom. Also a big hole in the quilt cover. Only one towel large enough to dry one person after a shower not 2 people, unless one doesn't mind air drying with a hand towel to dry an armpit. NO BATH - if your looking forward to a nice relaxing bath then think again. Shower/Toilet room really small.. you can sit on the loo & reach the sink & shower & wall infront. The shower also leaks out onto the floor infront of the sink/toilet as only a cheap shower curtain up. TV channels are rubbish - no TV guide or info. Remote control fallen to bits & batteries exposed. basic bed base but decent mattress - the only good thing about the room. Dissapointing first stay at Travelodge. & upset it was so poor for my boyfriends 30th. Avoid room 202 like the plague. The only good thing about this hotel is the area, if you manage to get a sea view room then the views might take your mind off the state of the room for half an hour or so.

We stayed here doing a bike ride from Camelford to Great central location , very helpful staff - Shannon - great views of the beach. We stayed on a Sunday night so it was pretty quiet but as Newquay is a party town I imagine it's lively at the weekends!

Overall lovely stay in the hotel. Only a few niggles..

There is no car park for the hotel which is not ideal!! As a family we had to walk quite far with all our clothes and bits just to park for over night which also cost us £10! ThE website should make it clear there is no parking on site! (As your right on top of an aldi)

Second niggle is that there was no air con in our room! And our room was ridiculously hot! There was a fan in the room but it was just circulating hot air as the window only opens a few inches for safety reasons!

The hotel room was very big & had an amazing view! Staff are friendly and hotel is clean and tidy!
