“A beautifully situated, spacious and bright holiday cottage!”

The cottage was clean on arrival, the bedding/towels were spotless. The property is on many different levels and it took a few days to remember where each room was, but once you had got your bearings it was fine. The cottage as a whole is modern, but the bathrooms were a little dated, however they were clean and the Jacuzzi in the main one was amazing! The kitchen was well equipped appliance wise, but it was short of knives, forks and mugs. The negatives I would point out were some basic DIY jobs that needed doing ie to the lounge flooring and a few other minor things that although they were small, when rental is that expensive you would expect perfection. The other negative is the access which is very steep, although our car coped, some may not. The road into Looe is also very busy and was a little scary to walk on. To conclude, we had a wonderful stay and I was sad to leave Woodgate, particularly the bedroom balcony and the amazing views across to Looe. I would recommend this property most definitely!

Describe the service you experienced:-
The service regarding booking the Cottage was great. We had tried to get a Monday to Monday stay but couldn't, then fortunately we received and email to say Woodgate could offer us this. It was professional and efficient.

Tell us how you liked the property:-
We had a totally fabulous week at Woodgate Cottage. I was worried when we first arrived because our dog could get out of the garden area as there wasn't any chicken wire on the fence. Luckily the people surrounding us were friendly and accommodating. After a day or so she realised her boundaries and stopped trying to get out to investigate, which meant we could at last relax. The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped. the balcony outside the bedrooms was an added bonus too as we had a lovely view from there.

Talk about the location & amenities:-
The location was reasonably good in terms of time it took to walk into town although it was up a very steep hill. When we drove, our car did actually scrape the floor on several occasions coming up the drive way as did taxi's that we had ordered. Had we known the Barclay Hotel had closed down and so couldn't use the facilities, we may have stayed closer to the town. We were expecting to use the pool and restaurant facilities there.
As we love to walk with the dog it was a risky experience coming out of the gate directly on to the road which I wouldn't advise if you have small children as there is no pavement until you reach the end of the road and the bend in the road doesn't really help.
The long pathway down to the road was quite overgrown too and had lots of steps so this is not suitable for disabled or the infirm.

Say what you liked best & least:
Location would be the least thing we liked due to the hilly climb, but the cottage itself served us very well.
The things we liked best far outweighed the things we didn't. We even had a couple of Bar-b-q's which was so enjoyable like home from home.
Looe is such a 'foody' little place and all the restaurants served gorgeous food, although the Thai and the Italian are a little dated in terms of décor, the food was second to none,
I would recommend this to friends but I would have to make them fully aware of the location to be totally fair.
I have put average to the 2nd question below due to the lack of info about the drive way up to the cottage.
