On a previous trip to Looe we had eaten in the terrace bar and enjoyed the experience so thought we would try the hotel. Good hotel parking which is a bonus in Looe. We paid extra for a sea-facing room which was fine, but the room itself was very tired and it didn't seem to know what 'theme' it was supposed to be. A real mix-match of colours and some of the furniture was very tatty. The hand driers near the restaurant were rusty which I remembered from my previous visit! I think they are short-staffed which is unfair to the staff who are there as they are running around all over the place. One night we returned around 10.45pm but couldn't get our room key for a while because the person responsible wasn't there and someone from the bar had to hunt around to get access to the key cupboard. They certainly need more cover for the bar and terrace. Some of the staff were excellent but others didn't seem to care. On a couple of days our drinking glasses in the room were not renewed. You don't mind paying top prices if the hotel reflects that all round but I feel they are relying on the spectacular view too much. It's a shame because It would only need a few obvious improvements to make this a great hotel but I wonder if the resources are there to do it?

We were greeted on arrival by friendly, helpful staff whom explained everything we needed to know in a courteous manner. The hotel was lovely and clean, well maintained, staffed well, amazing views and fab facilities. The on site spa is a must. Food was delicious and great choice and value. Highly recommended and will be returning as soon as possible.

Room tip: Sea views well worth a little extra.

Visited just before Christmas, hotel was quiet. Had a lovely room with sea views. Only had breakfast as meeting with friends both evenings. That said it was a lovely breakfast with plenty of choice in a dining room overlooking the sea. The Spa area was fantastic with large heated indoor pool, the largest jacuzzi I have ever been in, and excellent sauna and steam room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will return.

Booked to stay for one night due to location being near family and they are pet friendly we arrived a bit later than expected due to the journey taking 7 hrs but we had a very warm welcome and found we had been upgraded to a sea view room although it was dark but this was appreciated when we woke in the morning room service for a late snack was very good and breakfast looking at the sea was excellent so we decided to stay a second night to enjoy the facilities of sauna steam room etc and enjoyed a very nice meal in the restaurant will definitely stay again

We decided to book a 3 night break with some friends after hearing about the NYE celebrations in Looe. The hotel staff were friendly and we were pleased with our room which had a balcony facing the sea. Only negative was one night it was blowing a gale which seemed to scream/whistle through the balcony door and was very cold in the bar and lounge areas. The meals were great with good choices. The hotel restaurant had panoramic views of the sea and coastline.NYE party was fun,the band were good but possibly didn't cater to the main ages of the guests. Would book to stay there again!

Room tip: We stayed in room 418 balcony sea view room.

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the New Year celebrations and your stay at the hotel. Unfortunately the weather was not so accommodating and as you rightly noted it was blowing a tremendous gale that evening, with a strong north easterly wind. Luckily such extreme and adverse weather conditions do not happen too often.
