“Beautiful house with amazing views”

Lovely sized house in a beautiful setting, with views over the sea and out towards Looe. The living room is upstairs with a little balcony so that you can look at the view whilst chilling in the evening.
There is also a nice spacious outdoor area leading off the kitchen, with plenty of chairs and a large table.
Worth noting though, the mattresses are not great, the large bed in the main bedroom is very hard and the beds downstairs have springs that dig in to your ribs.
If you wake up with bright light, then take an eye mask, as the curtains are very light and with big windows, you will be awake with the sunrise.
The parking is fine, as the house has a spacious driveway and you can turn around easily in it.
The coastpath runs in both directions straight from the house, so it is great for walking. It only took us 20 mins to get into Looe, but it is hilly, so if you need to get a taxi back, the taxi rank is near the bridge in Looe and it is £5 to get back.

“Perfect holiday home from home”
Reviewed 18 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Stopped here for the October half term break. Group consisted of my husband, our two children (age 14 and 10) and my parents, so quite an age range. The house is what we describe as an upside house, meaning full advantage was taken of the views from the upstairs lounge (and upstairs ensuite double bedroom) of the Cornish coast and the port of Looe.

The property itself is situated in the area of Kellow which is accessed via a narrow road, a bit tricky if traffic was coming the other way! You step out of the from front door and within 5 mins and 122(?) steps you are on the beach at Milendreath. Nearby is a superb chippy (The Coddy Shack) which is both a restaurant and takeaway... Serving the best cod I've ever had from a takeaway.

Highwood itself has everything you would want from a holiday home. Two good sized double bedrooms, a twin room and a room that could accommodate a cot if required. The kitchen diner is HUGE (compared to mine!) Containing a good sized dining table (easily accommodated the 6 of us), microwave, electric oven, lots of cupboards and plenty of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. There is a dishwasher and good sized fridge freezer in the separate utility room.

There is free WiFi throughout the house, although the mobile signal was weak.
The house also has a large selection of DVD's for the odd time when the weather changes for the worse!

There are plenty of places to visit nearby, within easy driving distance are Plymouth, Rame Head, Polperro, Eden Project, St Austell to name a few - plenty of places to visit in the week we were there.
Highwood is directly on the SouthWest Coastal Path so take the opportunity, if you can, of walking a section of it. We went from the house to Seaton, a bit hilly but a beautiful walk (approx 2.5 miles) and stopped and had a drink/snack at the beachside cafe at Seaton.

We loved our stay at Highwood and would recommend both it and the area for both families and couples.

“Great house, great views and great location”
Reviewed 7 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This was an extreamly nice house situated in a nice quiet area with lovely sea views and only a few minutes walk down to the beech. We enjoyed every minute of our stay , the owners supplied DVDs, games, books and even toys for the young ones, the balcony and decking area is South facing so if you enjoy the Rays whilst taking in the sea views then this is a great property to rent. The kitchen is huge and fully equipped and we was pleased to find the little extras the owners leave out for the visitors it's such a nice touch
The only downside is we didn't wont to leave
