Week sailing between Falmouth and Salcombe (and back) whilst doing RYA Coastal Skipper stuff. Great fun, good sailing. Instructor Pete was gently encouraging and continually making improvements on techniques without seeming to. Difference in skills between the beginning and end of the week was marked. Great sailing area, great time.

Had a great week with instructor Mike - completing Day Skipper training in the Fal estuary and across to the Helford.
This is the second visit and both have been excellent- CC instructors seem to have a very good style of teaching, getting a lot of information across in an informal and relaxed way.

Jim, our instructor, was first class. We had a super week but sadly did not take enough pics. This is the second time we have used Cornish Cruising for practical assessment and training. The Fal is a superb venue to hone all the skills needed for coastal passage making as well as being a beautiful spot in its own right.

I have just returned home following completion of a Day Skipper practical sailing course with Cornish Cruising. Credit where it's due, it was a fantastic experience. This company is perfectly located in a beautiful part of the world, the marina facilities were excellent including a good bar serving a variety of food and drink. The centre of Falmouth and all it offers is a short walk away.
The course was a thoroughly comprehensive package delivered by our skipper for the week, Mike Allan. I cannot praise Mike enough, full of enthusiasm and humour coupled with great knowledge, skill and clearly an absolute love of sailing putting all of us at ease to learn in the best way that we could. Mike demonstrated an intuitive feel for the needs of adult learners and took great pride, time and patience in seeing the crew develop and he strove to ensure that we all understood by whatever method worked for each individual.
There was no such thing as a stupid question and this boosted confidence in us all which further enhanced the growing dynamic of the crew. Just what you need when you're a bit apprehensive.
I have come home with so much more confidence and a Day Skipper qualification. Thank you Mike for your infinite patience and to Nick and all the staff at Cornish Cruising. I'm sure I will be back at some point.

Had an great week on the day skipper course with Cornish cruising. With weather conditions from 3 inches of snow and -7°c to force 7 wind (and everything in between), our instructor Mike got us out on the water every day. Very knowledgeable and will explain the principles of the manoeuvre then demonstrate until everyone on board understands.

The days were long which was good because we weren’t sat around in the marina wasting valuable sailing time. There is a lot to get through on the syllabus and I certainly felt like it was good value for money.

Mike made the week fun and interesting and Nick and the rest of Cornish Cruising were friendly and helpful on and off the boat.

The marina facilities are brilliant.
