The place is in a lovely rural location and the owners are very welcoming, our room was nice and the bathroom functional (although exactly as advertised). Where this place really excels is its food and service, both of which were excellent and accommodating of food allergies. Also the owner was happy to tell us that booking direct it’s cheaper and you get a better room for your money than using a booking site.

We stayed for three nights in October. This was our fifth stay in the past three years - so obviously like it!

We have a small dog so we like to stay in one of the garden rooms - it makes life a bit easier. The garden rooms are very comfortable - we had number 9 this time. Number 8 is slightly larger and would be our first choice, but saying that room 9 is fine. We have also stayed in the four poster room and the family suite on the top floor previously - all are excellent.

What we like is the fact that this is still a real pub. The emphasis is on having a good time having a drink or something to eat - there is no wi-fi in the bar, so no just standing about looking at your phone! It is a very friendly place. Some evenings there is music in the bar.

The staff are all friendly, and helpful. The food is very good - certainly way above most pub food. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast is first class - it would be hard to get much better! Well cooked local produce.

There are some very good walks straight from the pub - so great for people with dogs. You are some way from any town and lanes are narrow - we always approach from Culdrose and Gweek - quite easy and the roads are a bit wider we think.

Well, the first thing to say is if you are looking for somewhere in the middle of a busy or lively town, forget it Trengilly Wartha is in the middle of nowhere.....Just what the doctor ordered!
The room was great and even came with its own goat!, yes goat!... well he lives outside, but it was great to be greeted every time we came back to the room.
The breakfast was great, Cornish all the way.
Evenings were busy and the evening menu was spot on.
Special thanks to WILL for the little surprise he helped give my wife on the morning of her birthday.
We will be back!

Room tip: Room 10 or 12 were our favourite.

Quite a relief to get there after some winded Cornish lanes. Great atmosphere in crowded bar. Music on Weds evenings. If you want a quiet meal ' a deux' I suggest the quiet Bistro restaurant. Wide menu- but doesn't often change. Expensive wine list - choose carefully. Hearty fare in Winter and leave enough room for trio of Creme Brulee

Trengilly Wartha is quite remote and you either need to use the directions they provide or have a good sat-nav. We stayed three nights, the staff are excellent. The room was of a good standard as was the breakfast and being quite remote is quiet. The food is excellent for a village inn/pub, there is a good choice as well as being good quality. It is very dog friendly and the bar staff will help with the best tables with room for dogs. There are good grounds to walk round. It's a great pub and recommended.
