We were on a family visit to Chester. It was a bright cold, sunny day and we were exploring by the river. It was near lunchtime and my boys spotted some ruins in a park We went to explore and we found ourselves in Grosvenor Park. The park was lovely, with a small miniature railway and a great swing park. Its also got a cracking little cafe. I think historically it was a park keepers house and so the cafe has a maze of rooms, and lots of original features. There is also a patio and as we were bundled up we decided to sit outside and watch the world go by (and also some athletic squirrels up to mischief!) I chose the brie and olive ciabatta, my partner had a bacon toastie, our lunches arrived very quickly and were delicious. My sons had the kid's boxes which contained a ham sandwich, carton drink, cheese stick and a cake. We all chose a different kind of cake for pudding, the choice was pretty impressive and we both had deluxe hot chocolates with whipped cream. Lovely food, friendly staff, reasonable price and a great location. Recommended!
