What an absolute gem, right in the heart of Aylesbury. Okay. No onsite parking, but ample parking spaces available in car parks within easy walking distance of the hotel. It has obviously been recently refurbished to a very high standard. The building itself is obviously very old which limits what can be achieved, but the bedrooms are exceptional. We booked for 1 night only on a Sunday night, for only £35 (room only). Food is available in the downstairs bar until 11pm. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

Room tip: No lift and stairs to the very top floor very steep.

Pleasantly surprised. We stayed just one night to visit our son and just wanted a basic but clean room in the centre of Aylesbury. It more than exceeded our expectations. The rooms was big and spotless with a huge en suite. We were initially unsure if it would be noisy as it was over the pub but it closes at 11pm and we had no problems at all. Would definitely use Wetherspoon hotels again

Room tip: No parking on site. On street outside if you’re lucky bit multi storey 5 mins away

Stayed here one night, arrived 45;mins before check in due to train times we were met with Can’t check in till 2 pm so we asked if possible to leave 2 very small cases then come back, they just refused to let us leave the cases … no explanation to why.
This rudeness followed at breakfast, as we were told started at 7 pm we went down at 7.45 placed order to be informed 5 mins later breakfast didn’t start till 8 even though menu on table and in room stated 7 am start, again no form of politeness even when we asked why it was advertised to us.
Breakfast came out exactly at 8.05 so had been cooked prior as just Luke warm but no member of staff around to check how the food was, also at this time we knew it would fall on deaf ears and be met with rudeness.
Final straw asked for jam where same manager !, came out and plonked it on table with no “ how was breakfast “ just didn’t know how to communicate to the customer .
Maybe if we had been a regular we would have been met with more politeness but we were made to feel unwanted as paying guests.
So I would not recommend this hotel or return unless the staff had training on how to serve and act with paying guests.
Disappointed as this was first trip since this lockdown and even though the room was £39 ( room couldn’t fault though) we were so looking forward to having a nice time but the experience here spoilt it ….
But if you want a central room that’s cheap here is the place ( think only place ).
I

Room tip: We stayed on the back above the open drinking area but if you kept windows closed it was fine

Stopped overnight and was surprised at the standard of our room. It was large , modern and very clean. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and complimentary bottled water. The bedroom had a large walk in shower with plenty of hot water. Only problem we had was that outside our room (101), there was little square and we counted 14 air conditioning units and it was so noisy in the night we were awake more than asleep. The location was very good, in the main square. Staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. I must admit that we were not really impressed with the bar area, needed big updating, 5 minutes walk away is another wetherspoons, the White Hart, we went there for evening meal and next morning for breakfast. For the price we paid we were very happy and would certainly stay here again if in the area
