This hotel has a good location a few minutes' stroll from the railway station (and the exceptionally good Don Giovanni's restaurant) and is adjacent to St Mary Redcliffe church which is quite remarkable. The lively harbour-side area is with easy walking distance.
Plenty of car parking (£15 per day) and reception was quick and efficient; our room was comfortable the bathroom had a good sized walk-in shower; there was less noise than I might have expected on a Saturday night so we had a restful stay.
The only minor niggle was the aircon which was not up to much so we left the window open.
Breakfast is a buffet affair but better than most - lots of staff on hand (including the excellent Mariya) and we were well looked after in the splendid Kiln restaurant.
WiFi coverage was good and free of charge.
Checkout was also quick and efficient - we stayed with a Wowcher/Living Social promo which was very good value for money, and the DoubleTree will be our first choice when we return to Bristol later in summer.More
