We stayed for 2 nights in order to visit Chatsworth on a last minute break. The room was clean and nice but rather hot (it was 30 degrees!! room 3 was better than room 1.) The restaurant had a good selection of meals and the rotisserie chicken was excellent. Staff pleasant and welcoming.
We found out after that had we booked on the hotel site we would have got a discount on the food. The campsite looked very nice and was situated at the rear of the hotel.

Came for a celebratory meal at the invite of a very elderly lady who had saved for this treat, so imagine our horror when 3 of the 4 meals should have been sent back, 2 steaks both badly and inaccurately cooked the med rare was very well done and the med well was cremated, 50% of the very small steaks were fat the rest tough, accompanied by Luke warm soggy chips. The other meal was vegetarian and described as totally without taste or texture.
Normally I would have complained immediately but given the circumstances I genuinely felt I couldn’t embarrass our host she would have been mortified.
In fairness her meal of light bite fish and chips was fine, the staff were pleasant, service ok for a busy evening, they welcomed our spaniel so in general the place is ok maybe we were just really unlucky

Lovely food and excellent service.
Visited with 2 other adults and 3 children.
Great value for money and pleasant surroundings.
Puddings especially good and compared to other venues very good value.I was also allowed to order a child's portion for myself.
Highly recommended

Just a short visit to Derbyshire in our motorhome and we stayed two nights at the Grouse and Claret campsite. Nicely situated at the rear of the hotel on well marked pitches on level ground. A quiet site with just two families and the kids, although enjoying themselves playing as kids do, they were all quiet at ten and well behaved. As I am somewhat disabled it was a great advantage to have the hotel a short walk away. Good food at a reasonable price. Overall a very pleasant stay, can recommend.

Great lunch with our kids on a Saturday afternoon. The Service was quick and friendly and the food was lovely and such good value, especially the children’s food. We have been a few times now and it’s always been good so we will definitely be going back again, the rotisserie chicken is a must if you visit.
