Since many years we spend our holidays in the area, also off-season and one of the things we were missing was a restaurant with a bit more refined food besides the standard burgers, entrecotes and duck, even if those meals gave us pleasure.
At le St. Julien, you get that little bit more. The plates look ice, taste nice, the desserts are marvellous though a bit expensive (7-9€).
If you stick to the menu at 28€, you won't be dissapointed.
We'll be back, and especially off-season.

Fresh seafood and good house wine, delicious kids menu, friendly staff and pleasant terrace. Prices surprisingly fair. Ideal for a stop over.

What a pleasure! A sophisticated, modern decoration in the landaise style, complete with wooden flooring ,great acoustics. Professional personnel front of house. The food...beautifully presented with great flavours. Easy parking, well worth a detour.

.

In a tourist region with a large number of campsites, mobile homes and budget accommodation, a lot of the restaurants are family-focussed, with burgers and pasta featuring heavily to appeal to the younger ones.

There are, however, some restaurants suited to those with more delicate or sophisticated tastes and manners, and this is the best of the lot.

Good car park. Lovely shady terrace-cum-consetvatory for outdoor dining. Charming gentleman owner. Friendly and efficient service. Excellent menu and a la carte choices. Very good wine list.

And outstanding food.

Of the four of us, two had the menu at €28, two ate a la carte. All were delighted by their food and the three who drank wine much appreciated an Entre Deux Mers at a sensible price.

Our only regret is that this restaurant was discovered so late in our stay, so we cannot return.

Not this year anyway!

The owner explained that they like to restrict themselves to just 80 covers per service, although physically they could accommodate more. The extra space is to allow dining Mainly Indoors or Mainly Outdoors, depending on the time of year and weather. In summer you'd better ring up and book, therefore, if possible. It's also a good idea, he says, to book for before the 8 o'clock rush as there will be less of a wait for your food.

And they also open for breakfast....

Lovely!
