We decided to get breakfast out, which we do weekly and decided to try somewhere different from our usual cafe. We spent almost $70 on breakfast at Honey Cafe for takeaway since it is level 3 and we were left very disappointed. Two meals were asked for crispy bacon, which was not done. The other meal the bacon was so chewy, he couldn’t eat it. The halloumi on all the meals were inedible which was a shame because we are all halloumi lovers. It was very disappointing and a waste of money. Unfortunately since it’s all takeaway, we didn’t notice the problems until we got home. We will not be returning for anymore takeaways and I doubt we will give it a go once it’s fully open again either due to this experience.

A delight to visit. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, lovely service and affordable. Even though it was busy it was not too noisy which was good for my elderly parents who have hearing difficulties. Would be difficult to navigate in a wheelchair though.

Can’t fault Honey, beautiful food, presentation is amazing. We are regulars and take all our friends and family there..great staff..totally recommended. It really is the best..

The Honey Cafe in Takapuna is a fun, cleverly decorated cafe with lots of street parking close by. The clientele is a mix of young professionals and older Kiwis. Not a fan that they allow dogs in the restaurant but clearly that is a favorite of the regulars. Started with the blueberry smoothie which surprised me with a peanut butter flavor. The pancakes were decadent and sweet. The omelette was chock full of ingredients and well cooked.
The menu had so many choices we wanted to try so we will go back.
The service was attentive and pleasant.
Would recommend for a weekend early breakfast or brunch spot. They accept reservations. Enjoy!
