Sad. Slow coffee, taste poor and rude manager. Shame. Great location. Was told to move tables rather than asked.

Authentic French Galettes and Crêpes in Takapuna ❤️
Nicely tucked away, with a beautiful view on the lake, the restaurant is tastefully French, cozy and clean.
Service was warm, timely and smiley.
We went for dinner as a family and enjoyed a savoury galette each (Avoriaz, Paris & Monaco) followed by a desert crêpe (my favorite : the Louis de Funes). Everything tasted really good, was nicely presented and service was good too.
Will definitely return, highly recommend.
I go to this cafe on a reasonably regular basis for morning tea or lunch. The service is always excellent, and they have a good selection of great tasting food. I think even those who might perhaps have a concern about having an overwhelming French menu will be pleasantly surprised.
Apart from the excellent service and food, what makes the cafe exceptional is the location on the shores of Lake Pupuke. Sitting out on the balcony, overlooking the lake, is an experience well beyond what the average cafe can provide!
We were part of a group of 27 & enjoyed the special "Group Menu" (available when at least 20 folk are together).
I had an entre of Avocado & Prawns which was delightful
My main was Coq Au Vin & truffle - a generous serving and again delicious...
My desert was Profiteroles which can best be described as yummy!
Will be back to this venue again.
We had takeaways coffee before a show at the Pumphouse, our order was incorrect but I was given a refund for the extra coffee that I did not order or want. I also ordered at the same time a childs hot chocolate and asked for it to be only warm, my grandson was most disappointed when he tasted a stone cold drink. We went back after the show for lunch and were undecided on what to order and the waitress said she would come back after we discussed some options with her we thought this a good idea to come back once we sorted what we wanted, however she had put in a half order for things that we were undecided on which arrived at our table, we would not have had one person eating and not another that just does not work with children and in the meantime we had changed what we wanted to order, she was very brusque with us and we felt unappreciated as customers. I didn't ask but I think this place is under new management. The pancakes that we ordered were superb which is a shame as we will never go there again thanks to the cashier/waitress and her attitude. Another grandson decided he also wanted a hot chocolate and when I took the lid off the chocolate was just thrown in on the top and had not even been mixed in. Disappointing.
