Just returned from a week staying at The Old Farmhouse Kitchen with my wife, daughter and her friend. The property was renovated to a very high standard in 2016 and provides comfortable accommodation for four people. It is at the bottom of an unmarked road and adjoins a farmhouse which is also available to rent although it was empty when we were there. It is a short walk along a tractor path and across a field to the Pembrokeshire coastal path for those who like their exercise! It is also near to some lovely harbours and beaches, as well as St. David's which has a magnificent cathedral as well has some good pubs and restaurants, although avoid The Grove Hotel unless you want poor service. However, there is an excellent fish and chip restaurant at Porth Gain (The Shed) which is about 15 minutes away from the cottage where you can get battered monk fish, John Dory etc.and the smoked haddock fishcakes are superb.
A couple of points re. the cottage. The postcode given on the directions will take you about half a mile away from the lane the cottage is in. If you are coming from St David's you need to take the first left past the Pembrokeshire Sheepdog house. If you are coming from Fishguard it's a right turn before the Pembrokeshire Sheepdog house. There is only one shower and toilet - not a problem for us but could be for two couples. There is no wi-fi at present and mobile phone reception is a bit hit and miss although you can normally get a signal in the yard outside. There was no iron or ironing board although the owner did say she would sort this out and the dvd player was missing. We were also asked to pay for the heating although the website says it is included in the rent for May so worth checking when you see the owner.
If you are looking for a quite holiday this home will suit you to the ground.
