Ideal location to explore southern Vancouver Island. Beautiful sea views, clean and well appointed beach side resort. Immaculate accommodation, like new, with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Would definitely recommend and return here again.

“Perfect retreat”
Reviewed 8 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This well equipped studio flat is located in a resort complex right on the beach with swimming pool, tennis courts, a boating/ fishing pier, outdoor barbecues for guests to use, a children's play area and laundry facilities. The sea views are spectacular, and the snow capped Canadian Rockies always visible in the distance. A grocery store a couple of miles away is useful and there are restaurants and plenty of shops in Naniamo. It doesn't get better than this.

“Comfortable vacation rental with gorgeous water view”

This beautifully furnished with contemporary design and all the furnishings and fixings you'd want for a vacation home has a beautiful view to the inland passage water to the east. Very convenient with very good wifi coverage, cable and AppleTV. Recently renovated with lovely taste. The kitchen is excellently equipped for anything from a breakfast or lunch to an evening of homemade fine dining. Wander down and find seabirds and climb around the rocky shoreline and tide pools. Or drop into the swimming pool or outdoor hot tub and watch the clear starry night. Night-time is serene and oh so quiet.

It has a very convenient location for visits to the Yellow Point Lodge next door, or the wonderful Crow and Gate pub up the road, or Ladysmith trails down the road. It's a short drive to the Crofton-to-Vesuvius ferry for an exquisite day at Salt Spring Island, where there's a great Saturday farmers and crafts market, and choices of fun restaurants, music venues, cheese-making places and wineries.

“Fabulous location. Stylish and spacious apartment.”
Reviewed 15 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed here for a week recently.
Four adults. Bags of space. Fabulous views over the sound with truly spectacular views especially the sunrises.
We sat on the balcony overlooking the floating dock watching herons hunting fish. Osprey flying overhead. Twice we even watched otters cruising by!
A short drive away is a walk to Dodds point. Really good gentle walk if you want to watch sea lions, seals and otters hunting salmon.
About the same distance is the local pub. The Crow and Gate. An oddly British themed pub set in fantastic gardens. Great staff cheerfully serving a wide variety of food and interesting beers. Top tip is get there early as it is so popular with locals you may struggle to get a table any night of the week.
The town of Ladysmith is a short drive away and has some great little shops, fantastic cafes and restaurants not to mention a supermarket. The tourist information office is well worth a visit for ideas on things to do which you can contemplate whilst having a drink in the pub or grabbing a great pizza from the two places opposite.
Vancouver island is a beautiful and spectacular place.....
Back to the apartment sorry...Comprehensively stocked kitchen. Really comfortable accommodation, really nice to meet the Canadian neighbours when using the pool, hot tub or communal gas bbq on site. The laundry came in handy and was very clean with a library to borrow books during our stay!
Overall our stay was the highlight of our trip to Canada.
I am normally reluctant to leave a review about anything good for fear of it getting too popular, however as we don't travel to Vancouver island that often sadly, I am willing to make an exception This is to be fair to both the owner and provide a honest experience for potential holidaymakers.
I hate staying in big hotels, as I do so through my job far to often. This property afforded comfortable accommodation in a truly spectacular location for a very reasonable price.
I would strongly recommend you look at this property as an excellent base from which to explore the island or alternatively stock up the fridge/freezer, relax and enjoy the wonderful experience this properly has to offer.
If we return to the island in the future we will be staying here again without question.
If we win the lottery I would seriously consider buying it!

“luxury it wasn't”
Reviewed 13 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Position was good, lovely views and it was quite clean but not luxurious. We were 6 so bed settee was used, mattress was awful, lumpy and thin. Towels had seen better days and we only had 1 each, plus 2 small ones which we used as hand towels, so not enough. We scrabbled around trying to find 2 pillows each but didn't succeed. The toilet for 4 of us wasn't separate, so we always had to wait if someone was in the bathroom. Not fun in the morning . We had to ask for teatowels, and dishcloth because the dishwasher had broken down. This was a real nuisance, none of us wash up at home so we certainly don't want to on holiday. The owner knew it was iffy all summer but hadn't replaced it as she said it was the end of season and they were going to redo the kitchen next year. Not good enough. I bet we still paid full rate and people at the end of the season should be treated exactly the same as people at the beginning. The toaster didn't work either. Toilet brush unhygienic too. Shower/bath shabby condition. Oven slowest ever, 45 mins to cook a 10 minute frozen pizza. Paid for condo in full upfront when I booked, strange!

Management Response
14 Sep 2015
I am so sorry that this guest felt negatively about our condo. Though we believe it to be very clean and well equipped, we do recognize it's need to be renovated and we will be following through with a beautiful, full, high end renovation this January. The price point did reflect this. For a group of 6 people staying at a two bedroom, oceanfront resort, for $250 a night with tax included? By all Island standards, this is considered an exceptionally fair price. My housekeeper did address the low towel count immediately (we could have supplied more pillows as well, had they asked) and I called with an apology for her oversight. We do our very best to offer a lovely experience for visitors, but unfortunately you just can't please everybody.
