I booked a Weekender package at the Walper Hotel, which included dinner at the Berlin restaurant (amazing - separate review) and breakfast next morning. When I booked, they indicated they would book the dinner reservation. When I received the email confirmation, which I had to call and request a second time, there was no indication about dinner. I emailed them, they replied asking if I wanted them to book the dinner. I requested - again - for the reservation to be made. Night before our arrival the hotel texted us to say how excited they were we would be arriving the next day. We texted back, asking them to confirm the reservation. No response. Day of arrival, we called, asking to confirm, and were told they would check and call back. No call. We arrived at the hotel to find out they had not booked the dinner reservation. They did get us booked, but the angst of feeling that we may have made the trip for nothing was totally ridiculous, considering the many times we reached out to insure it was done. Had another question of the staff after our arrival - again they would check and get back to us. Never did.

The room was fine, but the shower tap seemed defective - I could not turn it off...my husband eventually went in and showered and he struggled to finally get it off.

Kudos to the rooms manager who handled our concerns very professionally.

The package that we had was tremendous value because of the high quality of the dinner, but the hotel staff really needs to be better trained in customer service.

Our family stayed here for two nights over October Fest and had a blast! The rooms are super modern and clean. Hotel is in an awesome location, everything is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend the Walper to anyone!

We spent one night here and the decor of this hotel is cool contemporary finished to a high standard. The Walper is housed in a Victorian building on the high street in east reach of everywhere. The bed was super comfy, great service and we had a fab time here. I’d fully recommend staying here.

Upscale modern renovation. Not your chain hotel so takes getting used to. Clean, comfortable bed, walk in shower. Friendly staff. Food good. Parking across street bit awkward, but hotel placed in centre of town walking distance to restaurants, pubs & attractions.

Really relaxing room with modern shower and a comfy bed! Had a welcome bag on the desk. Great flat screen tv. We had no issues at hotel. Staff was great. Loved the old mixed with the new. Surprised how downtown Kitchener has changed. Did not feel feel comfortable at night walking, however, I would stay at Walper again
