Good, basic accommodations for the night at a reasonable price. Security guard was patrolling halls and parking lots. Room appeared clean and hotel was very quiet. Bed was comfortable; climate control worked. Quick check-in and check-out.
POSITIVES:
- Room was a good size and had fridge, microwave and basic amenities
- Bathroom was a decent basic design, on the smaller side
⁃ ftness room, but smaller sized ⁃ larger beautiful pool
NEGATIVES:
-room wasn't cleaned properly, garbage was found in bathroom and around desk .
-fitness room was not open 24 hours. Adult guests are not allowed to use fitness room upon request, outside of posted hours
-45 minutes from airport
-no complimentary shuttle to/from airport
-the behavior of other guests was very questionable
-one of the male front desk employees was very cold and unwelcoming
-our family will not be returning to this hotel
The room was less than clean. In the corners of the room there must have been a 1/4 inch of dust and dirt. I found black mold in the shower as well. The night we stayed another guest was clearly smoking pot in their room and it was permeating throughout the halls and under doors. I complained to the front desk and got a simple sorry. Even the next morning there was an incredibly strong smell of pot lingering.
I asked to speak to a manager, but none was available. I left 3 messages for a manager, no one called me back. When I finally spoke to the operations manager, she said she would look into and get back to me...still waiting...
DO NOT STAY HERE!! Paid for the room for two nights and they also charged an extra $100 'security deposit'. Hopefully that'll be released to my credit card. We booked a queen room and it was more like a double size. Room was dirty. Shower had soap scum on the walls and the glass corner shelf. I wasn't going to complain but the more I thought of it, I couldn't let them get away with the sub-standard conditions. So I was 'upgraded' to a king room. The king mattress was old and very 'sinky'. The sheet was dirty so the housekeeper brought a new sheet. The shower walls had soap scum, the HVAC didn't work - turns out the plug malfunctioned, the ironing board cover was dirty, the couch was dirty, the walls were dirty, wall paper next to sink had soap/toothpaste scum on it. I don't know if it's the housekeepers who don't know how to clean or they don't have the right supplies or are not given enough time per room (they only clean the room every 3rd night of your stay), but seriously both rooms were disgusting! There was an old bottle cap on the shelf in the bathroom. Breakfast is not included. There is a restaurant on site but you have to pay cash and you don't get a receipt....just the waiter calculating your tab in their head and telling you what you owe including tax. Very fishy indeed. Also, coffee was not good and service was practically non-existent. Had to ask for everything from salt, pepper, ketchup and jam. They don't give you water unless you ask for it too. Menu is on a small 8 x 10 chalkboard at the front bar. Lastly, there is no clock in the room. I know we all have celI phones but to have to turn it on to get the time at night is annoying. Also, no USB plugs so bring an adapter if you dare to stay here. The glass entry doors from the exterior of the hotel to the restaurant are chained shut with a padlock too...this must be a fire code violation. I would never stay there again and only booked this hotel to attend a business function held there.
Doesn't even deserve 1 star. We will NEVER stay here or recommend this hotel. The rooms are disgustingly dirty. The housekeeping department is definitely not being managed well. The walls have splatters, the sheets are stained, or were they even washed? The carpets have burns holes in them and I didn't even want to place my suitcase on the filthy chair, let alone sit on it.
ANOTHER huge issue is that I did not feel safe at all. This hotel is also being used by the Red Cross for refugees. I wanted to use the workout room and pool on a couple of occasions but they were all in there. My husband even mentioned it afterwards expressing he didn't feel safe if I went to go workout! If you want to feel like the minority in your own country and feel completely unsafe, then this is the place for you! As a side-note, although breakfast is NOT included for us paying guests, (like someone else mentioned...bring cash and you don't get a receipt!!!), the refugees get free breakfast and you see them all coming into the restaurant and walking out with their brown-bagged take-out breakfast. That's why paying customers don't get any service because the staff is too busy catering to the refugees.
Unless you like filthy rooms and feeling like a minority around refugees who act so entitled and take over the hotel, don't stay here!! Also, I think they sell your email address because ever since I've booked a room at this hotel, I'm now getting spam/phishing emails!!! Never got any before booking this hotel. Ridiculous.
