This review is very late. First light Travel and Danielle did an excellent job guiding us through Tasmania and both parts of New Zealand in March and April of 2023. We were delighted with everything. We only had two small glitches and those were addressed immediately and to our total satisfaction! We just can't say enough good things!

Very happy to have engaged First Light Travel for our 18 days trip to NZ. Nicole first responded to our enquiry promptly and had been very professional in designing our customised trip to NZ.

It was a wonderful self drive trip, with very clear and well planned itinerary we therefore managed to visit all the planned visits.

Will definitely recommend First Light Travel to friends, they had delivered a good quality services.

Remember to bring drone if you have one.

Well-planned by Tatyana! Was value for money too, given that they tailored the trip to our requirements. We went for 10 days, 6 accommodations. Rental car was booked for us too, 2 tours included. Love the recommendations of Strahan - Risby cove. Really a quiet place in the middle of nowhere. Fits our requirements to a T. Just the 99 bends almost took my breath away. Cradle Mountain hotel was another great accommodation booked. Wombats galore! Would skip Launceston Grand Chancellor and Tall Timbers if I were to do the trip again. And perhaps stay at Swinging Gate in tamar valley instead. The Penicott wildlife tour (part of the package) was yet another highlight of our trip. We saw dolphins! Bucket list checked!

This is the second time I have used First Light Travel. The first time was a trip organized from Broome to Perth in 2022 for a group of four ladies. This trip was so exceptionally well planned that I decided to use this great organization to help plan a trip to the South Island, New Zealand. I was again totally impressed by Gina for her efforts, efficiency, communication and eagerness to help me sort through an acceptable itinerary. Gina listened actively to my wishes and booked our entire trip for the 17 days we were travelling. Even though a couple of our tours were cancelled because of weather and illness Gina was able to organize refunds for us. I would highly recommend First Light Travel to anyone wanting to plan a trip to NZ or any other places they promote.

I would definitely use First Light Travel again as they make travelling so enjoyable and less stressful. They work through any concerns with their clients and consider matters such as cost, safety, enjoyment and timeliness.

Thanks Gina, you are amazing. 🤩😍

We had a fantastic time and that's due to First Light Travels organising and knowledge. We flew into Melbourne, had a driver waiting from RRS Hire Car and Tours who were used throughout our entire stay to collect and pick up from the airports and hotels. All drivers were so polite and professional - the cars were spotless and water bottles available in every journey. They took us to the Adina Hotel, Queen Street. We had an apartment for 2 couples and it was fantastic. You must visit some of the local cafes - the panini's are something else! Go West Tours took us on the Great Ocean Road trip, spotted a koala and a field with kangaroos! The sunset view on the beach is so special and ended the tour on a high (as it had rained for a lot of the trip).
From there flew into Cairns, again a driver collected us and took us to the Mantra Esplande. Apartment for 2 couples again - plenty of facilities and rooms were spacious. Very sociable area - lovely ice creams too! We arrived on the eve of Amateur Races and had a fantastic firework display - who knew they'd arranged that for us LOL! It was also the weekend of semi finals for Australian Rules Rugby and the bars were bursting with locals watching the matches. Do book a table at Dundees - there's 2; One in the Aquarium and one on the harbour, fantastic food. We had the Bushtucker plate and seafood plate - Wow!
Snorkelled on the Great Barrier Reef with Passions of Paradise who were exceptional in their care, they looked after everyone. Made the trip so relaxing to know you were in good hands. Went on the Daintree tour with Down Under Tours - our guide was so entertaining, he made the trip!
Wait a while tours then took us for the nocturnal animal explore - we saw 3 platypus which is so very rare - we were thrilled! Both tour Operators know their stuff and it is so much better than doing it yourself, you wouldn't get the same out of it in my opinion.
From here we set off to Uluru. They had their own collection service from the airport. The Complex is made up of several hotels and there is a supermarket on site as well as cafe's. Make sure you take head fly nets - the flies are very annoying when it starts to get warm! Set off with Seit Tours for a sunrise tour which was so different in its own right, you can't compare it. The evening tour was extra special 'A Night of Field of Light' - magical. The whole atmosphere from start to finish is unique. Buffet meal with endless drinks, a star guide pointing out the constellations that are so bright due to no light pollution, then finishing with a stroll through the solar light field - awesome.
From there we headed to Sydney, stayed in the A by Adina. Location was everything here as we were right where we wanted to be - central. Captain Cook cruises and the hop on hop off ferry took us to Manly, Madison Bay, Taronga Zoo. It must have been a hot day because a lot of the animals slept! Manly Bay is worth a visit as it has a fantastic beach on the other side of the harbour which is as popular as Miami Beach! Fantasea cruises took us on a Whale watching trip. They were fantastic as they swapped our schedule without any hesitation after we were gridlocked from Sydney marathon that had 15k runners passing through the road we needed to cross to get to the ferry! It had been a busy morning as there was a 5k and 10k race beforehand and saw an influx of 46k runners for the weekend. The trip itself was relaxing and we did see a few - they didn't breach though because it's the wrong time of year for that, they do that on the route up and not on the root back (apparently!). Captain Cook cruises then hosted us for a 3 course meal on our last evening in Sydney (drinks not included, you have to buy those separetley). Seeing the city come to light in the evening is another spectacle to behold. I will now on every New Years Eve say - 'I've been on that!' when Sydney Harbour Bridge starts off the new year celebrations! We went up the Pylon Tower on Harbour Bridge for $25 as opposed to climbing the bridge - height wise it's not too far off and you get to walk around the tower to get a full view of the Harbour and Sydney.
It was a packed trip from start to finish but absolutely out of this world - thank you Nicole and the team at First Light Travel - you made our wishes become reality.
