Description: Set in the picturesque Southern Cotswolds village of Sherston, The Rattlebone Inn is a classic English country pub, rich with charm and character. Led by Head Chef Roger Payne, our menu celebrates locally-sourced ingredients, offering juicy steaks, seasonal game, fresh fish, homemade desserts, and artisan cheeses. Chef Payne’s creations blend classic pub favorites with innovative dishes, making it the best food in the area. Our cozy interior and fully heated, well-ventilated garden offer comfort year-round. We pride ourselves on high-quality real ales, a wine list with over 30 selections, a fine malt whiskey collection, and specialty cocktails. The Rattlebone is a community hub, hosting regular events and themed food nights. For larger gatherings, our back restaurant, skittle alley, and garden can accommodate private dining, BBQs, hog roasts, or even a giant paella. Visit us for great food, drink, and warm hospitality.

Seriously disappointing!
Firstly only 2 staff for the whole pub, very unfair on them.

They forgot my partners starter and said it would take too long to get out.

There is one thing I think a pub should be able to get right and that's roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.
All the Yorkshire puddings were burnt. Even the lady behind us commented on hers it was so black!
The roast potatoes were chewy? Not crispy at all. All the vegetables were over cooked and mushy.
The beef was meant to be rare on the menu, far from rare, and the chicken was so dry.
Probably the worst Sunday roast I've had for a long time!
No one asked how our lunch was - probably a good thing. Maybe the chef had the day off!

Will not be returning to Sunday lunch here.

Visited to celebrate a house move (not ours) and birthday - service was lacking - ended up going to the bar 3 times ourselves to get drinks. Our meal took 3 hours so clearly didn’t need our table for anyone else. food unremarkable - chicken skewers had no taste of the garlic/lemon promise of the menu. Highlight was the Camembert chilli chutnies and the marshfield ice cream and chocolate brownies

Nice cosy pub. We had two courses here and found the food to be hot and tasty. The veggie curry was very nice and the burger seemed to be a proper home-made burger, nice and thick.

We thought it was all reasonably priced for what we got. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice lunchtime visit here today. Old County pub in the heart of the village and clearly very supported by the local residents. The open steak sandwich was huge and very tasty, and my burger was homemade and the best I've ever tasted. This is an honest locally run dog friendly pub, and you must try it if in the area. Our dog was made welcome, and the visit was very pleasant.
