My partner and I live in Essex but every time we go to York we make a point of going here. The food is all fresh and homemade and the curries are incredible and so authentic.
If we lived closer we would be eating there at least once a week!
The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the owner is always present and talking to the customers.
Overall, great food and a great atmosphere. We can’t wait to go back.

First time here at the weekend whilst visiting family in the village and a great experience, lovely atmosphere with a nicely laid out interior obviously adhering to current regulations so I expect things to change in the future as restrictions change but I can't imagine it would effect the homely and warm atmosphere as this comes from the staff and landlords who are professional and courteous as well as enjoying banter as and when it arises.
The food we ordered was very well cooked by the chef with the right sized portions so we didn't have to roll out of the door and minimal leftovers so very satisfied thank you.
The drinks on offer are well varied from premium type lagers and cider to cask ales from local breweries and are kept very well providing a smooth, refreshing and very Moorish drink.
Can't wait to have a homemade curry next time as I believe the landlord is the magic maker for these so I'm looking forward to the beef madras.
WELL DONE, THANK YOU and see you soon.

We were meeting up with old friends for a long overdue catch up, and a wee birthday celebration. Even though covid has changed our lives, the staff, service and the outstanding level of food offered at The Bay Horse were of the highest quality. The steak and Ale, omg. What an absolute pleasure to be there, our first meal out in over 18 months was an event we will not forget easily for all the right reasons. The hosts were attentive and friendly, the sun shone and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Well done team, first class. We will return to you, that's a promise,
