This is truly a place you can find anything. All of the big brands are available from cheap to high shops and everything in between. The challenge is orientating yourself between each green belt mall and finding your way back to where you started. Staff in all shops pleasant without being over the top which is refreshing.
I just live a few minutes away from this place. Well for convenience, everything is already here. It might be more expensive but for security reasons, this is a better place to go rather than go somewhere cheaper but get help up!!!
Cellphone, laptops are just some of the good buys here.
For the flea stalls, the rubber shoes (knock off) is cheap here. For the womens purse (knock off), the price is double or triple from the original supplier. So make sure when you start bargaining, offer 1/4 the original price they tell you.
Restaurants is abundant in this place. They offer I think all the cuisine you might look for. From Filipino, to chinese, to japanese restaurants.
This is a must visit place for all travelers in Manila.
well if you can't get something cheap as a momento of your time in Manila here you're hard to please. Bustling, hustling and bargaining market on massive scale. Replica everything from bags to high end watches for that perfect take home gift collection. I got watches, bags, caps and plenty of kids close. Easy to get to (if driving anywhere in Manila is easy!), air-conditioned and pleasant traders. Take some time to wander to get your bearings before plunging in...think around 50-60% of first quoted price on most anything you fancy.
I grew up spending my weekends in Greenhills Shopping Center. It has changed a lot and yet it retained it's "soul".
It's a good mix of flea market type stalls, furniture shops, pearls and jewelry shops, local boutiques, fast food and premium restaurants. You can find anything and evrything there. If you are a visitor or a "balikbayan" to the Philippines, Greenhills is a must-visit.
Always come early because time is never enough when you really want to buy a lot of stuff there. I just wish that they have enough and bigger restrooms. There is always a long line specially in the women's toilet.
In 2009 I bought a "korean leather" belt for 700 pesos. It lasted 2 years. The thin laminated covering peeled off exposing compacted paper base. So it was China made after all. The replacement real leather belt Hickok bought from SM for 1,100 pesos it is good today.
The flea market style vendors are the hit and run types. They are in one location for 15 days and when they want to continue, they will move to another location on their next operation. So confusing because no store name and no receipts issued.
A fake Hermes quoted at 50,000 pesos but since you are the lucky one it can be yours at 50% discount. I found a look alike from a store at Ayala Glorietta mall for only 6,500 pesos. And it was light, well made and real leather. It was branded as Via V.
These tiangge/flea market vendors operate multiple stalls there carrying the same goods and same prices. Many operators have become multi millionaires.
Cheap goods? maybe not. Cheap quality? Yes!
I recently purchased a polo and bermudas. The shop did not give me a receipt but assured me that if there is anything wrong they will change as long as I brought it back in 3 days. Which I did for my bermudas. They packed and gave me a white bermuda badly stained on one side. But when they showed me there was no stain. Took it back and she without checking with me anything about the stain she changes like she knew. I told her i do not want the bermudas as I was also changing it as it was too tight. I will take another polo. She agreed but she deducted P50 for the bermudas and asked me to pay for the polo. The price of the polo and bermudas was the same price. She started to argue as she was not willing to change the item to a polo as she realised that i had no choice but to change. I just decided to ask her to give me another white bermudas which she did and guess what this fitted me perfectly. That goes to show even the size is indicated the same but the consistency of the stitching is not. Also this place is famous for selling imitation or so called surplus stock. Whatever the case be careful and also be careful of pickpockets.
