Me & my partner stayed here for one night on one of the unpowered camping spots. Beautiful views and lots of close beaches for swimming. The owners were lovely and showed you all the facilities on arrival & took you to your spot instead of directing you. We didn't use any of the cooking facilities because we went out for dinner but there was a kitchen area & a BBQ hut as well. Showers are 50 cents which is odd, after paying $35 for two people I kind of expected to have a free shower. Would stay again & recommend to others.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, and we are really pleased that you would recommend us, and would love to have you stay again. Just to explain about the showers - we did have free showers in our upper ablutions building at one stage. Unfortunately, what we thought was a kind gesture backfired, as guests were showering for twenty or more minutes, stopping other guests getting in. When they did finally get in, the hot water had all been used. Consequently, because we thought we were being generous by offering free showers, only a few people were getting hot showers, and everyone else was having to wait for cold ones. We find that a very nominal amount of 50 cents for five minutes (which covers only about half the cost) means everyone gets a turn. We have heard of other parks where prices range up to $2.00 for three minutes, so feel 50 cents is a happy compromise. :) Kind regards

My partner and I stayed here a few days ago, the owners were friendly, warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived and even gave us a walking tour of the campsite. We had a beautiful spot right next to the water, there were two cooking areas, one we used a covered outside/inside bbq area, great big bbq, big table, it rained on our first day so we enjoyed hanging out there...they have free wifi that works, 50c showers, clean bathrooms and free eggs! We stayed 2 nights because we liked it so much, although we didnt hire, they have kayaks for hire, but were able to drive just few minutes to a lovely fishing spot, thank you guys for a great stay!

Thank you so much for such a very kind, yet detailed review! The free eggs are a little something we sometimes like to give our guests to make their stay more enjoyable - and their travelling budget last longer! Same with the free wifi. Really happy you decided to stay longer. Kind regards

10 weeks! Well, a stay that long speaks for itself. So pleased you enjoyed your time, and sorry you had to move on from your "Blue Heron home". Trevor and Cath are good at making people feel at home, no matter how far away home is! See you again, hopefully some day soon. Kind regards

Ran by really nice people, right on the ocean. Clean facilities. The only this was that it's a bit far from town. We got on late and didn't have food with us, not many options that were close by to eat at. But it's a great little spot and would definitely stay again

Thank you for the very good feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you again. Sorry to hear about the food - I have been in that very situation more than once while travelling. We are about five minutes in either direction to the nearest restaurants and takeaways, which might not have been open when you arrived. We do have a small shop with some basics to make a meal, but this is not always well-stocked out of season. In response to your feedback, we will make sure, in future, that we have a stock of "fixings" to make a basic, tasty meal for guests who get caught short. Kind regards

Greeted by super friendly owners. With a big smile and great service on a rainy day, we had no other option but extend our stay!

The facilities are great, with a big, fully equipped kitchen and bbq area at our service. The bathrooms are kept in excellent and clean conditions and the showers have great pressure and are super hot! (for 50 cents 5min).

There's laundry available ($4 for a wash and other $4 for dry).

The view is worth it! Nothing like sleeping with the sound of water at night and waking up for the bay view!

We'd definitely recommend it and come back if were in the area.

It is always a huge pleasure for us to have awesome guests like yourselves. It makes us want to achieve a higher standard just so people like you have a stay at a camping ground that stands out from the rest. We wish you "great and happy travels" for the future.
