Visiting beautiful Flores has to be by boat. Preferably a trip for 2-3 days so you can experience Flores National Park.
We decided for a 3 days cruise with the charming boat Alam Kaya and the fantastic captain Danny and his friendly crew.
It was a huge and unforgettable experience. We have seen the most stunning bounty beaches, incredible nature and snorkeling with Manta Rays.
It was a unforgettable trip and worth every Indonesien Rupiah.
We hope to be back some day and relive this amazing place.
We had a wonderful 3 days/2 nights cruise. We were Lucky with the weather and also lucky to see mantas. The boat is comfortable enough for a family of 4. The crew is very friendly/helpul, the food very good (can be adapted for adults or kids) and the captain Dany does his best to share his passion for the Komodo national park. To summarize, 3 days in paradise.
We booked 4 nights/5 days trip on the Alam Kaya with our two daughters. Despite the difficult start due to the weather conditions (we did not get permit to go into the park) we had a great trip with Captain Danny and his crew! Danny is an experienced captain and knows what he is doing. We were not very lucky with the wind, but in the end we saw everything we wanted. The food on board is very good, including fresh fish bought directly from fishermn during the trip. The boy did everything needed to make our trip a memorable one!
We stayed 6 nights on the boat in July 2018.
The communication prior the trip was clear and fast. All of our questions were answered in a matter of a few hours with all the required details.
On the day of departure a pickup was organized at our hotel, and Captain Danny welcomed us at the harbour. After stepping on the boat and meeting the crew, a briefing was held about the security and the general organization.
The wooden boat was perfectly clean and carefully maintained. Many details, such as a wireless speaker or foam seats, were a good addition to the global comfort. Beds were comfortable. Cabins are small, but that is expected for such a boat.
During the trip, Danny brought us to many places around Komodo park. It is important to stress that the itinerary is always subject to change depending on the weather. Anyway, he understood our needs and we could visit beautiful beaches and amazing snorkeling sites. We always felt safe at sea, being with a 10 years old child.
The food prepared by the chef was tasty and varied. We had breakfast, 2 hot meals and an extra during the afternoon. We ate fish, seashells, chicken, rice, pasta, vegetables, eggs... Quantity was more than enough, and we could rarely finish all the food.
The 3 other members of the crew were kind and respectful. They accompanied us in many places for trekking or snorkeling. They were present, but discrete. They helped us to spot turtles and Manta rays during our snorkeling sessions. Moreover, although the boat was small, we had our privacy. Danny would regularly come to check if everything was OK and to give information about the area.
The only negative point of the whole trip is maybe the poor level of English of the crew, except Danny. Althought he explained us the reason for such a situation, it is important to be able to communicate clearly when we are at sea, to avoid any confusion.
The trip worths every penny spent, taking into account the price of life in Labuan Bajo. We would definitely recommend this trip which was the highlight of our visit in Indonesia.
One and only ,it was wonderful expérience .absolutely gorgeous.
The captain Danny and his crew were attentive and concerned about our safety and confort.thanks a lot To you Dany and your crew.
