Went for lunch after my wife discovered this one star less than an hour away from Bellagio. Farm to table place to the nth degree. We were the only ones in the restaurant and had impeccable service. Started off with fresh baked rye/barley bread served with butter from their dairy. Only got better from there. Nine courses in all from rainbow trout to tripe to eggplant to two pasta dishes to roasted venison to a local cheese plate and light airy gelato. Dined for almost 2 1/2 hours. Chef came out as we were finishing. All in all an amazing experience. Be prepared to spend some $$$ as the tasting menu is €100 before wine or cocktails but definitely worth it.

We stopped in at this agritourismo for lunch. It's an unusual place for a Michelin restaurant. The service was amazing....very professional. The food was prepared by chefs, Gianni Tarabini and Franco Aliberti. Each dish was extraordinary! The presentation was unbelievable and the taste even better. This was the best meal we have ever eaten. At the end of the meal, the two chefs came out to greet us and we praised them.

This restaurant is located inside a large agritourism hotel building called 'la Fioria'. This nice looking wooden building is focussed on sustainability. And yes... outside you can smell the farm, which adds to the authenticity. Inside the air is clean and climate-controlled, just like any modern building.
La Fiorida is quite hard to find because all our our navigational systems don't know the street. Thanks to the friendly people at the reception desk (the lady also spoke english and german) we were guided there by phone.

The restaurant is simple, small and cosy, walls and ceiling are decorated with wood. For none italian speakers the menu is also available in english and german. The choice is limited to four dishes per course, but nonetheless we both could find something to our liking. According to the menu several ingredients, like meat and some vegetables, are grown on the farm.

The food is nicely decorated on the plates. The courses are very tasteful, nothing is over the top. Flavours are balanced and the quality of the ingredients is good. The waiter service is very friendly and smooth. We had an enjoyable evening. The price we paid for this kind of quality (1 star Michelin) is absolutely reasonable: less than €100 per person for 4 courses, including wine.

By the way, we never saw/met the restaurant's chef. This didn't influence our experience negatively. However we are wondering why he couldn't greet us, when we left the restaurant, it wasn't a busy evening for the restaurant.

If you visit lake Como, make sure to book a meal at La Presef to complete your holiday. The Michelin starred restaurant is in a very fancy hotel-farm, which grows almost all the ingredients for the meal themselves. The waiter told me my spaghetti had travelled the furthest - from another part of Italy! The fish was freshly caught that day, and the black truffles were found in the local woods.

On arrival we got a glass of champagne and a huge amount of delicious bread sticks and crackers as well as two amuse-bouche and bread made from 40 year old yeast. Our starters were delicious as was the main course, which we elected for pasta. Dessert was challenging to the senses - a beetroot based sweet with apple and ginger sorbet. The flavours worked beautifully together, but I am not sure if I fully appreciated beetroot as a sweet instead of savoury dish!

The waiter spoke good English and explained all the courses really well and paid great attention to some allergies we had.

The restaurant itself is themed around the farm; even the cutlery! The knife is sickle shaped and the fork like a rake. Saws, copper pots and cow bells adorn the walls and beams. Really lovely setting - small and cosy.

Highly recommended and incredibly good value for money; you will be pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the bill is if you have been to other fine dining establishments around the world!!!
