In a beautiful village estate, this small hotel provides comfortable, modern rooms, great food, and a wonderful staff. Tucked right in the town, there's still lovely views, a great pool, and the fascinating 'xisto'(slate) villages are nearby to visit. The whole area is beautifully green. Worth discovering! Also, feels like 4-star at a 3-star price.

Room Tip: Recommend asking for a room facing the hills!

Friendly helpful staff, great bedroom suite with large bathroom. Warm, comfortable bed, good Wi-fi connection, free parking in centre of town. Excellent buffet breakfast, highly recommended. Not easy to find though and our Sat Nav did not like the signal in the area!

Dear Guest,
Thnak you so much for your preference and comments. It is a pleasure to understand that your stay with us was a pleasant and enjoyable one.
And your correct. It is not easy to find us. The Palace being a protected building cannot have advertisement on the façade (just the 2 vases), and it can be tricky to find us.
Anyway we hope to welcome you again in the future.
Kind regards,
The GM

This hotel really is a palace. Lousa is a small town located about 30 minutes outside Coimbra. We came to the region to hike some of the trails to the schist villages. The hikes themselves are nice although quite steep. It was wonderful to swim in the pool after a few hours of hiking. The palace is well decorated and the grounds are well kept. The rooms are large and have a great ambiance of history. Strolling through the different areas in the palace can spur your imagination to what it must have been like many years ago.

Great location, free parking, clean and overall value. Our rooms were in the newer section and comfortable with many English channels. The breakfast was tops and all service was first class. We had dinner there with fantastic food and a very large wine selection.
