We had such a good experience today! Food was amazing, especially the banana bread - I think it’s the best one I’ve ever had 🤤

We just had lunch at The Surf Shack and were amazed by the friendly service and fabulous food. Great venue with food options to suit the whole family. Highly recommend!

I grew up in Waihi Beach & come back to visit my parents regularly. Today we went to the surf shack & despite being crazy busy, the service was 10/10, the food was exceptional & the environment was so lovely to be in. I would recommend the surf shack to anyone 🙌 can’t wait for the next visit.

Well we all know what happened to summer - it disappeared behind a giant rain cloud leaving us twiddling our fingers and playing board games. We decided to go and dine somewhere where we had been once before during covid.

All I can say is that this passed all expectations considering how dismal it was. We were a party of 8, and we wanted outside seating. We were given sheltered seating out the back on the deck which was very pleasant.

The service was second to none with, and I think the owner who served us - she was so lovely. The food was exceptional, and considering how busy they were, it didn't take long to come from the kitchen. Everyone loved their food, and we had such a range from the menu - Italian Fritters, to the most amazing stacked steak salad, burgers and street food. Just as we were paying the kids eyes popped out of their heads as a waitress came from the kitchen with the most amazing looking 'huge' pancake!

I am a food lover! So eating out is a roller coaster ride. I am often disappointed with lack-lustre food that could be easily replicated at home with little to no effort. What a treat trying the Surf Shack for the first time. I always choose meals I rarely make myself so Goat’s cheese filo seemed perfect. When it arrived I was surprised at the size, expecting a bigger portion of filo and there was a large beautiful salad on the plate with heaps of walnuts. Wow wow wow from the first mouthful it was flavours exploding in my mouth. Sweet tangy beetroot relish, combined with crunchy fresh salad and divine vinaigrette flavours, coupled with flaky filo and the most amazing creamy goat’s cheese! It was absolute perfection in your mouth! The presentation was stunning, but the flavours can only be described as “love on a plate!” Thank you to the chef- your efforts in this simple meal with stunning fresh produce clearly displayed your passion for making ingredients sing! Loved loved loved everything about this meal and the gorgeous service and setting offered by the Surf Shack! 10 out of 10!!! We’ll be back!!!
