It is in the perfect location to explore Old Town and other sites.
The staff is caring, intelligent and helpful.
The menu is filled with many options generously presented.
It offers the option of a pool and beach.

How can you possibly enhance this stunning and remarkable landscape? Well, Hotel Splendido finds the way. It looks like it would have an "attitude" but does not have one.
It is a perfect location to explore the Old Town and many more sights.
It has a caring,intelligent,helpful staff.
It offers a beautiful menu...food given generously.
The hotel surrounds you with every comfort, impeccable detail and beauty.
Our regret was that we booked only a one night stay.
There is a pool and a small beach.

We were very happy to be in this hotel away from all the noise of the old town of Kotor. It is only a 45 minute walk to the old town or a 10 minute drive in the bus.
The room we had was on the side of the hotel, we had big french doors opening up on a little balcony, so we didn't need any airco, we just opened the windows at night and half closed the shutters for privacy. The rooms was maybe a bit basic, but it certainly was ok. We had a fridge and a safe in the room.
The view over the bay was beautiful The hotel had a swimming pool and it was also very easy to go for a swim in the bay.
In the morning we had breakfast on the terrace, but if there are groups, you have to be quick to find a place, some more tables outside would help.
Breakfast was fine, however, people were queuing and in each other way. I the breakfast buffet would be set up differently, there wouldn't be any queues. For instance the coffee should be in the corner, where you nearly can't reach it, some people only were queuing for coffee, but you had to be in the long queue where every one was queuing for food. But overall it was a very good hotel and I would go back if I was back in Kotor.

Room Tip: Maybe a room overlooking the pool and the bay, this just for the view.

This is a difficult hotel to review, as it is difficult to know the comparisons and expectations in Kotor. We chose the splendido as we thought due to the hot weather it would be better to have a pool for a swim at the end of hot, dusty, tourist days. There were some lovely looking hotels in the old town, but they didn't have this facility. Splendido is further out of town than we were expecting, but taxis are easy to get and less than 5 euros a trip, so it wasn't a big deal. The location of the hotel, overlooking the water of Kotor bay, with both pool and sea access is stunning. The building itself is also lovely, it is just desperately in need of a refurb. Nevertheless, we slept well, ate well at breakfast and the staff were accomodating, so despite the hotels faults we still managed to enjoy ourselves immensely. The terrace for breakfast, overlooking the bay, is difficult to pull oneself away from in the mornings! Breakfast buffet had everything one may require to start the day. Our biggest problem with the hotel was the air conditioning in the bedroom - we had a suite on level 1 - it was very stuffy and we were shown alternative rooms, but the higher one went in the building, the hotter it became. We ended up with 2 fans in the room which was not ideal but did the job. The bedroom decor was very dated but the bones of the room lovely and spacious, with views in three directions. The bathroom was quiet old and not great. Everything perfectly clean and linen crisp. Every morning we sat at breakfast discussing what a wonderful hotel it could be, if some money was thrown at it - perhaps we should move to Montenegro and become hoteliers! To sum it all up, I do think the decision to stay out of town, with a pool was the right choice.......nice way to end each day of exploration before heading black into town for dinner.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2017. A great hotel, in a beautiful location, overlooking Kotor Bay. We had a fantastic few days here. The scenery is magnificent, and the staff were extremely attentive throughout our short stay.

Room Tip: Worth paying for a sea view. spectacular views!
